BBC Vomit 640

I was trying to come up with a witty and apposite acronym for BBC to describe what I have just seen on TV, but all I could manage was Beyond Belief Cunts.

Watching BBC World News here in Accra, I have just seen forty minutes of intense and non-stop Israeli propaganda. A live press conference by Netanyahu and Ehud Barak followed by a long, long interview with Mark Regev in which the most searching BBC question could fairly be paraphrased as “How can you be certain that those dastardly Palestinians will not break the ceasefire and start firing rockets again?”

No attempt whatsoever to give a Palestinian a chance to put over their viewpoint. Now fifty minutes of solid coverage around the ceasefire without a single Palestinian view or pro-Palestinian or pro-peace view. And in that entire fifty minutes not one mention of Palestinian dead.

Beyond Belief Cunts. Actually, it’s not a bad effort.

The massacre at Aydin/Tralles took place during the earliest phase of the Greek occupation of Anatolia, in the early summer of 1919. Even if the Greeks claimed it was a response to the action of Turkish partisans resisting the Greek advance, what caused it was the Greek invasion of Anatolia. And it occurred well before the Greek defeat in 1922.

The Greeks then, like the Israelis today, were operating as the local gendarmes of the universal empire.

“The Greeks then, like the Israelis today, were operating as the local gendarmes of the universal empire.”

Hardly, and unlike the Israelis of today who based their irredentism on mythical & spurious claims to supposed ancestors of 3,000 years ago Irredentism claim, upto until the enforced exchange of populations in 1923, large parts of Asia Minor, towns, villages, even whole cities like Smyrna, had continuous been habited by Greeks for at least 3,000 years; with the of expulsion of 1.8 million Greeks (as well as the genocide of the Pontic (Black Sea) Greeks), a flourishing civilization origin from the dawn of history, was wiped-out virtually overnight.

The Powers (your “universal empire”) betrayed the Greeks, and actually provided support for Kemal Attaturk against the Greeks, and predominately all for oil contracts; hard to imagine the the US (the present “universal empire”), turning against Israel for oil, but there’s always hope !!

    Ben and Kempe,

210Polonium is found almost everywhere unless you wait before smoking you cigar or eating you banana until they are 4 years old as by that time its alpha radiation is near or bellow the detection limit. It is a natural product whether you like it or not. Parts of Cornwall are so contaminated with 222Radon, the precursor of 210Po that one should not actually live there. Levels of up 17,000 bequerels of Radon per cubic metre of air were measured in some homes. This is about 200 times more than the levels of 235Radium, the precursor of 222Radon and 210Po found in fertilizers that are potentially used for growing tobacco plants. So, just smoke your cigars in peace unless you suspect that they are enriched by some malefactor.

Karel; Your knowledge of the subject of polonium is impressive, but you continue to miss the point.

If you’re inclined to talk about, how good was the recognition software?

Excruciatingly interesting question. The underlying process is statistical. It takes a few measurements (eye to eye, ear to ear, nose to chin) and sorts out best matches based on those parameters. There’s a lot of clever-dick maths going on and the results are staggering and scary. I was amazed, not at the fact that matches were found for an image, but that from a huge database the dozen best candidate matches could be found near-instantaneously, and sometimes for masked or otherwise obscured faces.

Less impressive was how this was used. It’s in the nature of the process that it can say that one face is definitely not the same as another, but that two faces are the same can only be a probabilistic statement. The system could prove innocence, but it couldn’t prove guilt. It was only ever used to prove guilt. Go figure, as the Yanks say.

Have one of you lot been writing in to the Viz Comic letter page?
    I quote:

I couldn’t help but notice that George Entwistle of the BBC has been hauled up to apologise over the whole Jimmy Savile scandal. And yet I cannot recall the Pope once doing anything similar despite, well, you know. Once again it is one rule for shadowily elected heads of sinister organisations, and another for the Vatican.

The abbreviation BBC=Brutish Belial Chutzpah. I know this is true because the outstanding BBC journalist Clair Voyant aka as Jane Stand(up comedienne)ley told the world 20 minutes ago. Erst kommt das kosher Fressen, dann kommt die Moral. We pay the gutless judeo BBC lots of shekels for a ‘Licence to shill.’ The cheeky bastards.
