Happy New Year 888

This is my last comment for the year as we are off to spend Hogmanay as the guests of an Ambassador in Paris. Out of deference to my family, who have had the brunt of it these last few days, I am definitely not taking the laptop, so I will no longer be able to take part in the popular new bloodsport of proving your loyalty to the SNP by being nasty to Craig Murray.

My parting thought is that, as every year of my entire life, it has been a disastrous one for the Palestinians. Yet more land occupied, settlements built, homes destroyed, olive trees uprooted, shipping vessels sunk and yet another murderous onslaught on Gaza.

I warmly recommend this rare public appearance by Col. Larry Wilkerson, ex-Chief of Staff to Colin Powell and a fellow recipient of the Sam Adams Award for Integrity. His brief musings here on Israel and Syria come from a deep store of knowledge and a razor-sharp intellect.

Do have a wonderful celebration. The future will be good. We are closer to a transformational change in society than you may realise.

    “Happy New Year everyone!”

You OK? I’m hearing loud bangs down the line and squonk.tk disappeared.

  • Squonk

    Fred,

It’s the 1st of the month apache config reset bug which I patched but forgot about the once a year deamon which also decided it needed to regenerate httpd-vhosts.conf. My fault for editing by hand config files which are auto-generated by the software in use. Fixed now 🙂

    Clark.

Come on pal keep your pecker up.

If you think it is good, then it is good.

Better than the other, is it not?

    All the very best.

    Hic!

  • Robert Crawford

    Clark.

    STOP THAT RIGHT NOW.

You deserve the best, just like everyone else.

Here is a wee bit of psychology for you.

Our feelings and thoughts are what determine where we are to-day. If what is happening to us now, both physically and emotionally is undesirable, our feelings and our thoughts are what need fixing.

    Start fixing!.

  • Clark

Robert, that’s kind of you. Probably I should just go to bed at present. I shouldn’t get so down, but so much effort leads to so little result, and so many people are cruel.

  • Clark

Other people aren’t cruel, but if you’re hurt they shy away, and that feels cruel.

    Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
    and never brought to mind?
    Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
    and auld lang syne*?

    CHORUS:
For auld lang syne, my jo,
    for auld lang syne,
    we’ll tak’ a cup o’ kindness yet,
    for auld lang syne.

  • Robert Crawford

    Clark.

Auld Lang Syne, that’s Scottish too. Whaw’s like us, damned few.

When the stone cutter is tapping away to cut the sone to the correct size, it is not the last blow that breaks the stone. It is all that he did before.

In other words, it takes time and effort to make the break through.

I have been tapping away for 70 years to get my Independence from the English, and I am not stopping now.

I have been feeling hellish since the 19th. September, and I mean HELLISH!!!.

I am not giving in, no way.

    Onwards and upwards!.

    Don’t you give in either.

    You are valued here.

  • Robert Crawford

    Clark.

This is a bad time of year to be carrying old emotional baggage.
Dump it. Easy for me to say, because eventually, I dumped it.

If you don’t dump it, it will hold you back and make your life a misery, until you do dump it. Next year and the year after that, and on and on.

    You savvy?

  • Robert Crawford

    Clark.

I need to lie down before I fall down.

Speak to you later, if you like.

Good night, or good morning, if you prefer.

Belated HNY to all. Afraid I was in bed asleep by 10pm!! I awoke at 7 this morning.

Sad news from Hong Kong. Apparently the stampede was started by someone throwing fake money from a nearby building. 36 dead and 47 injured. Terrible toll.

    Craig on Manning.

‘To return to Chilcot, there is a sense in which it is good that he has not yet reported. Chilcot is holding out to be able to include the Bush-Blair correspondence, which offers conclusive proof that the “WMD” meme was a knowing lie to justify a vicious and pre-determined war. The recent Tory pressure for early publication is for publication without these documents. Much better to wait and get the actual proof.

The idea that two heads of state corresponding on taking their states to war can be “private” and kept from their people, is so outrageous that the fact it is stated at all is, in itself, sufficient evidence of the media control being as complete as I assert. It is a laughable proposition. Besides which, if these were private letters, why were Sir David Manning and Sir Christopher Meyer delivering them at public expense? Can we charge Blair for this service? Meyer and Manning don’t come cheap. It was, incidentally, Sir David Manning who brought back to No. 10 the request from the White House that I be sacked as British Ambassador in Uzbekistan for kicking up a fuss internally over extraordinary rendition.’

As I read your post Mary I had this waiting in the clipboard:-

Observe the absolute venality in the British Establishment

Sir David Manning helped Tony Blair forge secret pact with George Bush

Why do you need to mention that your host in France is an ambassador? And why the capital A? Are you beginning to see why some people find you self-important? Did you never think that SNP people have been working at their thing for years and would resent the likes of you coming in as a parasite on their hard work?

Thanks to Node for this bit of good stuff:

    @Meg McGarrin 12:10 pm
There you go, fixed that for you.

“Thank yo’. Th’ noo year will be all th’ happier now we knows yo’ will nevah be a member of parliament eifer side of th’ bo’der. Yo’ haven’t a houn’dog in hell’s chance of winnin’ as an independent ennywhar in Britain, an’ no mainstream party will now evah accepp yo’ as a kindidate. Yo’ show utter corntempp fo’ varmints who hold views thet oppose yer own, as enny fool kin plainly see. Yo’ haf a massively inflated ego. How c’d yo’ postibly represent them who didn’t share yer mino’ity views?
No’mal varmints find yo’ a pompous, se’f-righteous, establishment snob. Well bust mah britches an’ call me streaker. Establishment varmints despise yo’. Yer main suppo’t seems t’come fum a weird bunch of cornspiracy theo’ists an’ a few other varmints who come acrost as bein’ clones of yo’seff.
But yo’’re not a-gonna lissen t’ennyone else, is yo’?”

Happy New Year everybody, including Meg

And happy 2015 to Scouse Billy and all other Scousers. Not everyone who comes from Kensington is Labour or socialist, but we **all** can’t stand suited wankers who think everyone else is thick as pigshit.

Try knocking on doors round here, Craig, for support as an independent candidate – but not dressed like that (and leave your attitude back down south where it and you belong).

It seems to me the dirtier the deed the bigger the Honour!

Then their is others who just cannot see the good others are trying to do.

    What a shame.

    Man’s inhumanity to man.

A sad New Year to most as peeps are burdened with Christmas debt. According to the Children’s Society, more than 42,000 families in Merseyside are in debt – meaning nearly 73,000 children are living in households facing financial ruin.

In Wallasey 28% of households – 10% above the national average – and including 6,000 children, are trapped by debt, with families owing £15m. The town is home to the second highest levels of debt in the North West.

We note the ROYAL VICTORIAN ORDER and tiers are almost exclusively bestowed on the royal household and servants.

I put through the wringer to the British people and enquire, what recognition was given to Her Royal Highness Diana, Princess of Wales in recognition for her charity work and for her support of the International Campaign to Ban Landmines. What appreciation when from 1989, she was the president of Great Ormond Street Hospital for children, in addition to dozens of other charities.

Why did the British people have to insist the Union Flag be flown at half mast over the Palace on the day of Diana’s funeral in respect AND FOR THE LOVE of her grand-children.

Princess Diana received foreign honours. Bestowed by Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands, Diana was awarded the Grand Cross of the Order of the Crown, in 1982.

With love and admiration Diana was gifted with the Egypt Supreme Class of the Order of the Virtues (or Order of Al-Kamal), again in 1982.

In this 2015 year AD I say SHAME ON THE BRITISH ESTABLISHMENT.

There is also massive poverty in America.
There is supposed to be 50 million living in poverty. Almost the entire population of England, and 10 times the population of bonnie Scotland.

‘If the EU stops business deals which are achieved through corruption and coercion, and which on past evidence would be used as the basis for further coercion, going ahead then that can only be a good thing. I don’t wish to deny that the US and perhaps even more so Germany use improper techniques in business deals to get their way – but I’m afraid two wrongs don’t make a right.’

ResDis , when Gazprom uses ‘ improper techniques in business deals’, it gets shafted by the EU. When one of the Seven Sisters, in cahoots with a US megabank, indulges in market manipulation for their mutual benefit, the authorities in ‘the West’ twiddle their thumbs-

A belated Happy New Year to one and all

  • Tony M

Happy New Years to all, but with exceptions, too numerous to mention. Have to agree with Clark’s, Mary’s and others pessimistic projections, for most it surely won’t be. This might be the first year I’ve not been awake through The Bells since childhood, including the years working, risking life and limb dealing with aggressive drunks. Three cheers for all for whom this time of year is just another, but particularly fraught, shift. In bed with a hot water bottle by 8:15pm last night, out like a light, and all the better for it.

  • Meg

This is my last comment for the year – oh, how important you are!

the guests of an Ambassador in Paris – oh, how important you are!

being nasty to Craig Murray – oh, how you write about yourself in the 3rd person!

My parting thought – oh, how it’s all about you!

    my entire life – ditto

Try to avoid making yourself the topic. It’s possible to express your views without constantly referring to yourself and your privileged circumstances and background.

“I me my former I me ambassador my blah me I Craig me my I thick my former ambassador evil me blah my me blah”

FFS, ‘loose cannon’ is the gentlest of all the critical remarks made about you recently.

And as for your family bearing the brunt of it… of what, exactly? Did your I me get wounded? How did the family bear the brunt? You beat them? You lost your erection? Or you just droned on about it ad nauseam?

“Oh, darling, rich cousin Craig was unsuccessful in some strange, brave venture! Let’s go drink champagne!”

Get a real job. Work. And apologise to Jim Murphy for your outrageous, drunken, vindictive smear.

    I warmly recommend – ditto

a fellow recipient of the Sam Adams Award for Integrity – ditto

WTF! How often can a man talk about himself!

I warmly recommend watching Elementary…., or Hey, watch Elementary!

YOU ARE NOT IMPORTANT TO ANYONE. NOT TO LABOUR VOTERS, NOT TO SNP VOTERS. NOT TO GREENS. NOT TO TORIES. NOT, ANY LONGER, TO YOUR HOME LIBERALS.

And probably not very important to your lap-dancer when you can no longer pay her.

  • Meg

@Daniel – Happy new year, Mr Murray. I still maintain that Murder In Samarkand is the greatest book I’ve ever had the privilege to read.

    You’re catching the disease….. “I still maintain that…the privilege….”

    Get a room!
