Down From the Mountain 426

I had been spending the last few days living here in Avatime district while visiting Ghanaian friends nearby. Away from internet, TV and any other distraction, it has given me a chance to ponder what next to do with my life.

This has been a real problem. Have submitted Sikunder Burnes to the publishers, and while there is still editing and proofs, a huge amount of time is now free. My determination to dedicate myself to working for Scottish independence led to my comprehensive rejection by the SNP. This left me confused as to what I might usefully do with my life. I suppose the question I have been pondering is, what good am I?

I have come up with a potential answer, and will out it later this week.

Climate change deniers should come to Ghana. Not only have changing rainfall patterns devastated the hydro-electric system, life has become extremely hard for farmers. The last decade has seen the highly predictable wet and dry seasons become wildly unpredictable. It has been unseasonally raining heavily on me all over Ghana. The situation is extremely difficult for farmers. Mango farmers are now praying for relief from the rain for the next six weeks or the mangoes won’t flower. The continuing rains may already have adversely affected next year’s harvest. Meeting cocoa farmers today. Am now in Kumasi.

KOWN: Syllables and getting a word that will work is the thing. Ibis wouldn’t work. I had thought Ibis referred to death but I see that they have an ancient occult symbolism relating to magic and wisdom, killing the snake etc.

The Garden Bridge is an extension of the Inner Temple Gardens, an extra-parochial area exempt from any Poor Law Union. Situated close to Temple, originally the precinct of the Knights Templar whose Temple Church was named in honour of Solomon’s Temple in Jerusalem.

In my book this place is an anomaly and to me celebrates war starting with the dynastic Wars of the Roses, white rose versus red rose.

Within the enclave is London’s prestigious International Institute of Strategic Studies, which supported the Iraq war and hosted President Bush’s state visit to Britain, now concludes that the hostility sparked by the Iraq war has substantially increased the growth potential for jihadi terror groups.

The bridge is destined to be strewn with growing poppies, a delicate flower that inspired a soldier to write a poem used in propaganda efforts and appeals to recruit soldiers and raise money selling war bonds. The poem galvanized an American academic, Moina Michael to make and sell red silk poppies which were then brought to England by a French lady, Anna Guérin.

Thus the delicate poppy from the poem means quarrel, discord, vendetta, war, dying and reliving.

The point of these events is to remember those who died fighting for their country. I know you “hate this country” and its armed forces, but you could at least shut up for one day of the year.

“Another video included of an interview with a badly wounded Afghanistan veteran who will be laying a wreath today. The ads on that was for UEFA tickets sponsored by Pepsi Max and the burger one again. Incongruous.”

Yes, Mary, it is well known that Sky carries advertisements in order to pay for its output. If if it did not then it would be sneeringly referred to by yourself as the “state broadcaster”, proving once again that you really can’t win with a discontented character such as your own.

    Craig you get a mention here;

“Four years ago Craig Murray, a former UK ambassador to Uzbekistan, argued that British policy was being driven in an underhanded fashion by the Israel lobby. He linked Gould with the Fox-Werritty scandal and raised questions about meetings between disgraced former Defense Minister Liam Fox and Fox’s friend/adviser Adam Werritty (who was backed financially by Israel lobbyists but had no security clearance and therefore no authorized role) and Gould.”

You have the so-called “trolls” to thank for it having become something an embarrassment on this blog to be seen posting links to dubious websites such as Aangirfan, Jeff Rense and Veterans Today.

Don’t go and spoil it now.

Thanks Mark for shining a light on the Garden Bridge background. More of the stench.

Anon has nothing to say about more holocaust propaganda on Sky News, just a defence of the commercialization in broadcasting in which Murdoch is the major player.

Yet again I am told I hate my country. Yawn. Yet again I say not.

Interesting that it was my comment concerning paedophilia that attracted interest from one on here last night at 11.14pm.

Former MI6 deputy director George Kennedy Young is ‘key figure’ in missing child abuse dossier, says MP
John Mann MP says the Government must reopen inquiry into why a dossier handed to the Home Office in 1984 went missing
    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/law-and-order/11975799/Former-MI6-deputy-director-George-Kennedy-Young-is-key-figure-in-missing-child-abuse-dossier-says-MP.html
    November 5th 2015

‘In Parliament Mr Mann described the Dickens dossier as “intriguing to say the least”.

He said that a former deputy director of MI6, George Kennedy Young, was involved in a right-wing Conservative group which gathered details on alleged paedophiles within the Commons.

Young, also known as ‘GK’ who died in 1990, was not named as a paedophile but Mr Mann described him as a “manipulator” who had been involved in “dubious” political activities, including a campaign to set up a private army.

“We need to know why the file disappeared,” Mr Mann said in a Westminster Hall debate.’

‘Mr Mann has now handed a copy of the dossier to the police.’

Hey Anon1, you didn’t even give GlobalResearch an honorable mention.

Taking care that the useless eaters will not become a burden to society:

They Profit, We Die: Toxic Agriculture and the Poisoning of Soils, Human Health and the Environment
    by Colin Todhunter

Our food system is in big trouble. It’s in big trouble because the global agritech/agribusiness sector is poisoning it, us and the environment with its pesticides, herbicides, GMOs and various other chemical inputs. The Rockefeller clan exported the petrochemical intensive ‘green revolution’ around the world with the aim of ripping up indigenous agriculture to cement its hegemony over global agriculture and to help the US create food deficit regions and thus use agriculture as a tool of foreign policy.

This was only made possible and continues to be made possible because of lavish funds, slick PR, compliant politicians and scientists and the undermining and capture of regulatory and policy decision-making bodies that supposedly serve the public interest.

For example, writing in the British newspaper The Guardian earlier this year, Arthur Nelson noted that as many as 31 pesticides with a value running into billions of pounds could have been banned in the EU because of potential health risks, if a blocked EU paper on hormone-mimicking chemicals had been acted upon.

The science paper that was seen by The Guardian recommends ways of identifying and categorising the endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs) that scientists link to a rise in foetal abnormalities, genital mutations, infertility and adverse health effects ranging from cancer to IQ loss. Nelson writes that Commission sources say that the paper was buried by top EU officials under pressure from big chemical firms which use EDCs in toiletries, pesticides, plastics and cosmetics, despite an annual health cost that studies peg at hundreds of millions of euros.

Nothing wrong with your link Dave, its source, its author or the content.

The article commences with a quote from Hansard.

    ‘ Hansard 4 Nov 2015 : Column GC355
Lord Mendelsohn: We welcome the appointment of the former British ambassador to Israel, Matthew Gould, who will have a key role in cybersecurity inside the Cabinet Office — a very useful and important position.

Sure enough, the UK Government’s website confirms that Gould is now Director of Cyber Security and Information Assurance at the Cabinet Office. “He and his team are focused on keeping Britain safe from cyber attack, through delivering the UK’s Cyber Security Strategy.”

They must think we have very short memories. Gould was the first Jew ever to hold the post of Britain’s ambassador to Israel. He describes himself as a “passionate” Zionist and whilst in Tel Aviv was instrumental in setting up the UK-Israel Tech Hub. In the words of MATIMOP (the Israeli Industry Center for R&D), the Hub was established “to promote partnerships in technology and innovation between Israel and the UK, and is the first initiative of its kind for the British Government and for an embassy in Israel. The Hub’s creation followed an agreement between Prime Ministers David Cameron and Benjamin Netanyahu to build a UK-Israel partnership in technology.”

Three years ago Cameron appointed venture capitalist Saul Klein as the UK Tech Envoy to Israel with the task of promoting the partnership, leading UK tech missions to Israel, bringing Israeli start-ups to Britain, and hosting tech events in both countries.’

Is it the words “technology and innovation” that chill Mary, or is it the word “Israel”?

To all those who claim Remembrance Sunday is about honouring Britain’s war dead . Did anybody tell the Head of British Armed Forces who chose today on BBC’s Andrew Marr’s show to launch an attack on Jeremy Corbyn’s position on Trident ? ‘ Poppy Day ‘ as usual bringing out the traditional warmongering shits hiding behind the dead of the past and the turning of the poppy into a political symbol ,

I’m not embarrassed, thought it would give Craig the opportunity to check what was attributed to him and correct – if necessary – that which he thought was misleading in the linked article.

Will post from Angirfan and Veterans Today again without hesitation if I think appropriate, happy reading.

    Habb 11.07pm.

I think you know exactly what I’m on about, hindsight, is a much lamented political weapon at Westminster especially when criticism applies.

However foresight seems to be in very short supply, when it comes to looking ahead to save British heavy industry.

Yes I think I am correct in saying that consecutive Westminster governments have let Britain’s heavy industries die out, whilst other similar sized nations, have invested in their’s such as South Korea and Norway, and they are now flourishing.

This slow strangulation of British craftmanship has been compounded by high energy costs, (something Westminster could’ve alleviated) leaving British workers at a disadvantage in the market place.

Yes we know it’s a globalised world, but not supporting your industries, preferring rather too buy in as they say, costs British jobs, which leads to high unemployment and a unskilled workforce, which in turn leads to a drain on taxes and a low wage economy.

Alas since Thatcher became PM, the emphasis has been on privatisation and profits, successive Labour and Tory governments have eroded the working man’s wages and rights in favour of big business, and its profits.

Thank you Monteverdi for you post and link at 7.27pm.

I however am not surprised that Hollywood movie stars are enthusiastically backing Israel and it’s IDF.

Hollywood is mainly a product of Eastern European Jews who emigrated to the USA in the early 20th century, and strangely they began creating the foundations of the modern day Hollywood movie industry.

Adolph Zukor, founder of Paramount studios, Carl Laemme, of Universal studios, Louis B. Mayer of MGM, William Fox of 20th Century Fox and Harry Cohen of Columbia pictures, were all immigrants or children of Jewish immigrants, who reinvented themselves as Americans.

Even today those powerful men and their legacies carry considerable weight within the American movie industry, to such a degree that even non Jewish actors have to pay a remarkable amount of lip service to Israel, if they want to progress in their careers.

I am however surprised they only raisec $31 million dollars they must be slipping.

Actually there is a proliferation of Ashkenazi genome in most European blood. I have some. Also Neanderthal genes abound as well as Africa. No need for optimism on reaching a bigotry-free homogenization. Even if we looked and talked exactly alike, some minor difference in customs/culture will be enough to keep war alive.

It is I believe only a part of Geoffrey Dickens’ dossier, included within it or as an appendix, something possibly already in the public sphere, not the missing dossier itself. But if someone, many people know that the document concerned was relevant enough for Dickens to include it with his submission, then the same many people know what was in and what has happened to any copies of the whole thing, if any are still extant.

    I might have guessed.

John Mann MP’s copy of the elusive (and possibly apocryphal) “Dickens dossier” turns out not to be the “Dickens dossier” after all.

So the story keeps changing but not before Mary had an orgasm of excitement on here.

Diverting from the main points, does not lessen their impact.

South Korea, has a population of over 50 million, not quite UK sized but close. Norway however, has as you rightly stated a population of just over 5 million.

The discrepancy that you point out does no favours for your case, indeed such a small nations success, only emphasises Britain’s shortcomings over its heavy industries such as shipbuilding.

  • Mary

Mary did not have an orgasm, What a ridiculous assertion in the context of reporting something from a Portsmouth newspaper and then from the Telegraph.

Others (RobG and Node) had mentioned the dossier by the way but were not interrogated.

To be quite clear about Matthew Gould, now in charge of our cyber security:

    https://www.gov.uk/government/speeches/speech-delivered-by-british-ambassador-to-israel-at-queens-birthday-party*

Should our functionaries be dual-allegiance? I’d say not, whether they have the hots for Israel or for Russia.

PS For those who don’t like Global Research (which is distressingly close to Moscow) or Veterans Today (whose veteran readership is around the nil mark, at a guess), here’s a source which, our resident ignorami can assume, delivers the gospel on all occasions, confirming Gould’s appointment on leaving Paradise:

    https://www.gov.uk/government/people/matthew-gould

*For some reason the link is hilariously wrong. The speech was not delivered at the Queen’s Birthday bash, but at the Ariel Sharon Park Recycling Mountain.

This location is a former landfill site, currently a waste processing area, piled on top of what used to be Al-Khayriyya:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Al-Khayriyya

    How appropriate. What diplomatic skills.
