Sadly, Terrorism Is Easy 472

I wish a speedy recovery, both physically and mentally, to the people stabbed at Leytonstone tube station. It must have been horrifying.

The following comments are in part predicated on a presumption that the media reports of the incident are broadly true. This comes with a serious health warning. At this stage after another tube station incident, we were universally assured that various official “sources” and “eye-witnesses” had affirmed that Jean Charles leapt the barriers and ran through the tunnels, wearing a bulky jacket with wires sticking out. All of those turned out to be absolute lies deliberately spread by the Metropolitan Police and the Home Office.

But assuming this time the account of his shouting about Syria is not lies, what we can see from video is that a single man in a very silly hat, armed with a very small knife indeed, can carry out a vicious terrorist attack with apparently no need for planning at all. Not even planning enough to get a less tiny knife from his kitchen.

Because, sadly terrorism is easy. As I stated recently, if I were crazed enough to want to kill somebody tomorrow, and did not care how I did it, who I killed or if I died myself, I could kill a few people without too much effort or planning. That is why the continual propaganda about “seven foiled ISIS terrorist plots” or “4,000 active Islamic terrorists in the UK” is quite simply untrue. If all those terrorists existed, they would not be so entirely unproductive. What the authorities do catch continually are fantasists, often children, boasting and “plotting” online about being terrorists. That is quite a different thing. It is worth noting that nobody has been charged over any of these seven foiled ISIS plots. Strange that, isn’t it?

As for the man in the silly hat, I fear he is mentally unstable. That is no comfort to his victims. The truth is, of course, that it is always the little people who get hurt. None of the 1% who foment, promote and profit from war have ever set foot in Leytonstone Tube Station. But their agenda is forwarded today. By its continual acts of violence and repression, the neo-con state eventually goads a mentally unstable person into a nasty, vicious and pointless act. They then use that act to justify more wars and repression.

For the security and armaments industry it is a very profitable cycle.

    Don’t worry, with the clocking in of the pantomime horse at 17.01, Fuck1 in the head, Alcy1 in the middle, and Anon1 on the back legs and tail, the thread was effectively closed, except for vain attempts to continue the conversation by Mary, Lysias RoS and TonyM.

    lol. Worry? I’v only been back a day or so and already looking forward to the break. Thanks. 🙂

    “Turns out the police was called to help, month before this incident in Leytonstone. The mentally challenged alleged ‘terrorist’, who had underlying mental problems amplified by smoking too much weed, according to his brother, got in with the wrong crowd. They did not bother to help.”

    There isn’t too much you can do to help someone who doesn’t want to be helped apart from depriving them of their liberty on the suspicion they might commit an offence sometime in the future.

    Myself I don’t want that to be a path too easy for the state to go down, it’s open to all sorts of abuse.

    “The U.S. government is notoriously slow in declassifying information, sometimes — it would appear — unreasonably. In the case of Berlin, however, there is a good reason, which I am not supposed to mention.”

    Sounds like one of those English super-injunctions, Lysias: you’re not allowed to mention something and you’re also not allowed to mention that you’re not allowed to mention.

    You’re a fraud, Lysias, but full marks for inventiveness!

    Nevermind is a hard working person who lives in Norwich, stands up for human rights, for the saving of the planet and the environment and helped Craig greatly when Craig stood for parliament in Norwich North. He comes from Germany which is why the RI attempts to belittle him by referring to him as Nebelmind. The vile trolling here makes me sick.

    I believe he stood for election locally as a Green.

    I have never met Nevermind but hope the foregoing is accurate and he forgives any inaccuracies.

    ~~~
    Read about Craig’s experiences in that election. https://www.craigmurray.org.uk/?s=norwich+north
    Blanked by the BBC. Local education authority withholding the use of a school for a meeting place, etc etc. Why do you think those things happened?
    Instead Norwich N got this naïve little warmonger, ex product of Deloittes who are currently assisting Hunt to wreck OUR NHS. She is CFoI too.
    It is a pleasure to follow Jim Shannon.
    Courageous Tornado crews based at RAF Marham in my county have been flying to Iraq already in the last year. The question today is whether we should ask them to do more, and my answer is yes. We have a clear, present and extreme threat and we have the ability to help defeat it.
    I vote today in favour of diplomacy, of united resolve through the UN, of continued humanitarian leadership, of planning for stabilisation, reconstruction and peace in Syria, of cutting off the sources of finance, fighters and weapons, and of extending our advanced military capabilities in a fight that is already going on, in which we are already involved, and in which our enemies want us dead—a fight which we must win to keep British people safe both at home and abroad, and in which our allies need our help.
    It is also right that the Government take domestic action, which is not necessarily named in this motion, but which goes with that coherent military, humanitarian and diplomatic action.
    I will not give way; I want to proceed and there are a few other Members who have been waiting patiently and want to come in.
    We all know we are under threat. No action is not an option. We all know there is history behind and there is risk ahead. People are naturally concerned that we may make things worse, and that being part of airstrikes may make us more of a target here in Britain. Those concerns are valid, but we can only hope to have a safer world for British children, and Syrian children too, by having the courage to defeat the evil that we face. Indeed, Syrians are already fleeing it, and desperately. We must act; the UN is asking us to act.
    I am prepared to back UK action with all its risks because I want to protect civilians there, here and anywhere in the world from the greater and more certain threat they face from IS: the threat of death, repression and torture.
    People rightly argue that it is not possible to bomb an ideology out of existence. That is true, which is why we need the breadth of the motion. We also need to ask what the alternative is. Is it to allow an ideology that recruits from its own military success so far to continue to do so, with a headquarters, and to invoke our silence in its cause? No, it is not. We must back the motion. My morals, my conscience and my heart and head say that it is Parliament’s duty to support the Government in the actions they must take to keep British citizens safe against that active ideological evil. It would be foolhardy to fail to take an action that may allow us to do our part.’
    re Lysias and the law
    On the light of what Our Friend has told us about classified information so far today, I wonder whether he wasn’t illegally revealing classified information when he told us that he – a US Navy officer (allegedly) – had been stationed in West-Berlin as part of the US garrison there?
  • lysias
    I never said that a U.S. Navy officer had been stationed in either West or East Berlin. I only said I was stationed there, and did not say in what capacity.
    I’m not the one who’s breaking the law (much as the Resident Inquisitor might like to conclude that I am).
    Whether he is breaking the law by trying to goad me into revealing classified information, I will leave it to others to judge.
  • Phil
    Asking someone to tell you classified information (if indeed it is classified, to be honest i can’t see it) isn’t in anyway breaking the law.
  • Bud Mulki
    As usual an objective overview of current events, always enjoy and value your opinion and insight Craig. I would very interested to hear your thoughts on the testimony of John Perkins a previous economic recruit of the US government. He highlights the relationship between the previous Iraqi president Abd al Karim Al kassim and how Saddam was used as s CIA agent/hitman to assisinate him in order to ensure that the US had control of Iraqi oil. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=oARBdBtGenM
    Thanks for that take Mary, I think is was bazz-uul (can’t remember his exact name) who pulled me up last time. And others seemed to join in at the time. Though I don’t take anyones words much, and it really does not matter to me, someones background etc. In fact it can make it worse, being ‘good’ and all that,’Important’.
    A bunch of important ‘hard working’ people just voted to go on an insane bombing raid. And i’m sure many of them really do believe they are, and ordinary people being killed are not.
    I mean, they probably have sub par spelling, not useful to mankind. They will be imagined, all as terrorists, ‘spammers’. whatever a self important fevered imagination can conjure up.
    I hope I made my point, and if not (to anyone who “can’t understand”) TRY HARDER. I’m sure your clever enough.
    I second that.
    As an anti-nuke person I’m well used to comment threads being completely closed-down by trolls.
    The trolls then just talk amongst themselves, in a not very convincing display of ‘conversation’.
    It must be wonderful being a troll, particularly an ‘Oxford educated’ one…
    Mary @ 7:54 pm and 9:01 pm
    Can’t watch any more of Shaytan thugs in action, today. It will make me ill. But I get the gist. (SOP, right?).
    And that Chloe Smith speech – Testosterone-filled adrenaline-junkie fighter jet crews helping save Syrian children.
    I’m reminded of Tony M’s recent comment about the inadequacy of the current English lexicon. It’s all gone so far BEYOND Orwellian.
    Of course it isn’t classified, our Transatlantic Friend is just wiggling and being evasive – “I’m not allowed to tell you” is just his latest line, the previous one having been “it’s not your business”.
    And our Transatlantic Friend called ME “mysterious”….. LOL
    John Perkins’ “Confessions of an Economic Hitman” should be required reading in schools.
    Ishmael In no way was I sending that link about Nevermind at you.
    Your posts are as valuable as every other genuine poster here.
    I just get sick of the infantile trolling. They call Nevermind Nebelmind. John Goss is addressed just as ‘Gross’ and I am Old Troll/Lady Dorking or whatever playground epithet they think of next.
  • Ishmael
    Pan,
    I recently stated a one man campaign on the guardian (aren’t we all) to teach about the class system…I think every comment was ignored.
    It’s everywhere, embedded, yet does not exist. The fundamental basic structure of our society.
    Down the memory hole. Country wide brainwashing. Serving children up to usury, abuse with no defense or basic knowledge of the danger. And here we are.
  • Ishmael
    “I just get sick of the infantile trolling..”
    Agree it’s very sad and childlike, really hurtful even. I thought it may just be more playfull, or a one off, as I don’t know Alcyone well. But as said, it’s never good to take anyones words much.
    Point taken. As i’v said before, don’t know how you manage it…
    “I never said that a U.S. Navy officer had been stationed in either West or East Berlin. I only said I was stationed there, and did not say in what capacity.”
    ______________________
    Well, we seem to be advancing at long last.
    Our Transatlantic Friend was stationed in Berlin – as part of the US garrison there (as he once told us) – but not as a US Navy officer. He has also told us he was never in the US Army (units of which made up the US West-Berlin garrison. Therefore he must have been in West Berlin (allegedly)in another capacity, the nature of which he has claimed he is unable to reveal because the information is classified (allegedly).
    It would appear that Our Friend, with touching modesty, is letting me suggest, on his behalf, that he was there as a spook.
    There have, of course, been plenty of American spooks who have regaled the public with full details of their various postings and activities without falling foul of the law; they have written numerous books (Our Friend frequently refers to such), they post on much-read sites such as Counterpunch, Craig himself is personally acquainted with at least one of them and none of them has been charged with revealing classified information.
    I shall leave it to readers to form their own opinion as to the credibility of Our Friend from across the seas.
