BBC Quietly Owns Up to Blatant Propaganda Lies 184

Nine months after a massive propaganda campaign based on outright lies, the BBC quietly sneaked out an admission on its website tucked away in “corrections and complaints”. As the BBC went all out to galvanise support for bombing Syria, the meme was pumped out relentlessly that opponents of bombing Syria were evil and violent misogynist thugs, bent on the physical intimidation of MPs. Leading the claims was Stella Creasy MP.

9 months after the propaganda had its effect – run on every news bulletin of every single BBC platform – the BBC published this correction, carried on zero news bulletins of any BBC platform.

Two listeners complained that the programme had inaccurately reported that a peaceful vigil in Walthamstow, in protest against the decision to bomb targets in Syria, had targeted the home of the local MP, Stella Creasy, and had been part of a pattern of intimidation towards Labour MPs who had supported the decision. The claim that the demonstration had targeted Ms Creasy’s home, and the implication that it was intimidatory in nature, originated from a single Facebook posting which later proved to be misleading (the demonstration’s destination was Ms Creasy’s constituency office, which was unoccupied at the time, not her home, and it was peaceful).

The BBC response goes on further and get increasingly mealy-mouthed, the essence of the excuses being “the other media were all doing it and we just joined in.” They also say they did eventually report – across a much more limited spread of news platforms – a more accurate version of events. But they then go on to admit that, even after this, Nick Robinson went on to repeat all the original lies in an aggressive high profile headline news interview with John McDonnell.

Former President of Oxford University Conservatives, Nick Robinson has form as a liar. The new documentary London Calling, forensically examining the appalling BBC bias during the Scottish referendum campaign, calls Robinson out as a liar in claiming on BBC News that Alex Salmond had failed to answer Robinson’s question, where the documentary has the footage of Salmond answering Robinson in great detail. Robinson’s replacement, Laura Kuenssberg, has of course continued the theme of tendentious reporting of fabricated violent intimidation by the left wing.

That the BBC took 18 months to admit to its lies is astonishing, because the information was immediately available, and indeed reported by me at the time. This article includes footage of the peace vigil outside Ms Creasy’s office which led to the BBC story – a vigil of some very nice people led, I kid you not, by the local vicar. In a delightfully circular argument, Ms Creasy complained that my article pointing out that her allegations of intimidation were false, itself was “offensive.”

UPDATE It has been pointed out to me that Stella Creasy did tell the Guardian the report was false that the peaceful demonstration had gone past her house. I apologise (infinitely faster than the BBC) for missing out that info, which I had not come across.

As for the BBC, remember whatever lies they are putting out today are likely to be very quietly disowned about next July.

A couple of days ago I had a little spat with the MP for Walthamstow Village on Twitter over her procrastination with the media regarding the Syria Peace March in December last year. As usual she gave numerous excuses before setting one if her supporters, a James McBastard, on me via Twitter. When presented with the facts, a link to the Evening Standard the following day of the march within which was the statement “Ms Creasy did not respond to requests for comment on the protest…” he promptly replied “Bore off” before blocking me!

Said MP continues to deliberately ignore article in Evening Standard of Wednesday 2 Dec 2015 where she could’ve nipped whole affair in the bud! She states she wasn’t aware of allegations until 3 Dec before her statement of 4 Dec.

My comment should have said my Twitter spat was in July. I too can correct my mistakes swiftly!

‘A blatant lie will be halfway around the world, long before the truth gets out of the starting gate’

This how the propaganda forces operate. The lie is already in the public domain and set in stone, long before the truth and denials take effect.

Thought for the day….., before you believe anything you read or hear in the Main Stream Media, propagandists rely on this…

At the end of the demonstration the demonstrators clapped the police and the police clapped the demonstrators, very intimidating, but also how easy to check just ask the police

The BBC, and indeed all other “news” outlets” need to be made to air all retractions and corrections with the same prominence as the original story, within one month of the first air date.
The problem we have is that a story is run in whatever medium, and the rest pile on the original story whether they had reporters there or not.
It needs to be if you weren’t there, then you can’t report it as fact unless/until you fact check it first.
I will of course not hold my breath.

When I was about 50 (ish), I had pneumonia, i thought i was finished for life, not hospitalised, should have been, took me six months to get over it.
If she does have pneumonia at nearly 70 should should be in hospital, not trying to be POTUS.

“The BBC are not fit to wipe the feet of Sir Cliff, who they colluded to destroy.”

When John Lennon received an MBE from the crown, he had the decency to tell the crown where to put it. Had “Sir Cliff” had the courage to do the same I might just feel some sympathy for him. Apart from that it was not the BBC who arrested him but HM’s police force. Do you seriously believe they would attempt to arrest “Sir Cliff” if they didn’t really have good cause?

So what you are saying is that “Lords of the Realm” are all “dodgy geezers”, including those you have now unwisely libelled, but that “Knights of the Realm” are all “diamond geezers”?

Ex-police chief Gordon Anglesea ‘threatened abused boy’
A former north Wales police chief accused of abusing two teenage boys in the 1980s told one he would “never see his family again” if he complained, a court has heard.

Former Supt Gordon Anglesea, 78, denies two indecent assaults and one serious sexual assault against one boy, and the indecent assault of another.

His trial began at Mold Crown Court heard on Wednesday.

Jurors heard how Mr Anglesea allegedly had links to convicted paedophiles.

Eleanor Laws QC, prosecuting, said the allegations dated back to when Mr Anglesea, of Old Colwyn, was a police inspector based in Wrexham in the mid-1980s.

The victims, now in their forties, were in their mid-teens at the time.

Ms Laws told the court Mr Anglesea was “in a position to abuse these two men when they were teenagers as a result of his position he held within the police force at the time”.

“[It was] a time when the issue of institutional abuse and abuse by people in positions of authority was hard for most of us to believe, or want to believe – and harder for complaints to be made,” she said.

Mr Anglesea’s alleged connections to convicted paedophiles included a man called John Allen, who is now serving a life sentence.

And we move seamlessly on: a National Crime Agency spokesman denied it was investigating Allen in connection with supplying boys to child sex parties for prominent political figures at Dolphin Square in central London, which was reported in the Sunday Times.

          http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-north-east-wales-30268731
John Allen jailed for child abuse at Wrexham care homes
A paedophile who ran children’s homes in Wrexham has been jailed for life for sexually assaulting youngsters in a campaign of abuse spanning decades.

John Allen, 73, of Needham Market, Suffolk, had denied 40 counts of sex abuse against 19 boys and one girl in the late 1960s up to the early 1990s.

He was sentenced at Mold Crown Court on Monday after being convicted of 33 charges last week.

The judge ordered Allen must serve a minimum of 11 years in jail.

Before a packed public gallery Mr Justice Openshaw said: “There have no doubt been more prolific offenders but seldom can there be so many grave offences committed on so many victims over a long period of time, causing so much anguish and misery.”

After sentencing, children’s charity the NSPCC said Allen’s “reign of terror over a dark period of several decades puts him high up the scale of the most prolific child abusers of recent times”.

Allen was cleared of two charges last week. The jury was discharged on Thursday after failing to reach verdicts on four charges.

          One alternative charge was dropped.
          ‘Like hell’

Meanwhile, a National Crime Agency spokesman denied it was investigating Allen in connection with supplying boys to child sex parties for prominent political figures at Dolphin Square in central London, which was reported in the Sunday Times.

“We do not have any evidence to suggest that John Allen supplied children for others,” said the spokesman.

The case was the first prosecution following the Operation Pallial investigation into allegations of historical sexual abuse at children’s homes, launched by the National Crime Agency (NCA) in 2012.

This is new one on me — the word ‘grifters’ as Newt Gingrich and Dinesh D’Souza have used to describe the Clintons:

Gingrich was on Fox earlier today proclaiming Hillary’s episode yesterday as ” the beginning of the end”. I’d like to believe him.

And we still have some Wikileaks material to come, perhaps this week.

The lies put out by the Beeb are always detrimental to Scotland, Northern Ireland, Wales and Cornwall, though, isn’t that odd?

Anyone would think that the Beeb had a Unionist agenda.

When Scotland gets its independence, please, please invest in a state television service that can provide a counterblast to London lies.

And please provide an opportunity for those of us who have not yet climbed the mountain to access it and feed in a little news of our own…

BBC announces good news for Scotland – a first.

First Minister Ms. Nicola Sturgeon has formally unveiled a tidal turbine that is to be deployed in the Inner Sound of the Pentland Firth.

The device is the first of four to be completed at the Nigg Energy Park in the Highlands for Atlantis Resources’s MeyGen project.

The project is said to be the world’s first large-scale tidal energy farm.

The Scottish government has provided £23m of funding to help develop the tidal stream farm.

Atlantis hopes to eventually expand the project to up to 269 turbines, with completed turbines being transported north by sea from the Nigg Energy Park on the Cromarty Firth to the tidal stream farm site in the Inner Sound of the Pentland Firth, which separates the north Caithness coast and Orkney.

      • Trowbridge H. Ford

Oh, and don’t forget the coverage in the media, especially the BBC, of the Pentagon trying to tame the New Democracy government in Japan by hitting it with that Tohoku earthquake in 2011.

The fallout is now threatening its successor, the Abe government, with former, respected PM Koizumi attacking its lies and handling of it comprehensively.

Hope Obama gets the message now about more lies before he leaves office.

        • Loony

Trowbridge – Can you help me out with a conspiracy theory? The idea is that John Hinckley Jr. has been released from prison so as to re-acquaint the public with the idea that people shoot senior politicians. Basically his release foreshadows an attempt on the life of Trump.

Do you think this is a plausible idea?

          • Trowbridge H. Ford

            I think there is something to the theory;

Hinckley tried to assassinate Reagan in lieu of not being able to get G.H.W. Bush who had him involved in stalking Carter for possible assassination.

John Lennon’s assassination had gotten Hinckley fired up again to kill the Vice President, but this time not on hypnosis and drugs but because he only loved the Beatle.

His release makes no sense as he still might want to kill Poppy Bush, and there is no sure protection that it might not happen.

Must have all the candidates, especially Trump, fearing that it might happen to them. Might be alsp to get the SS to be ever more vigilant.

Why else to release him now after all these years?

          • Trowbridge H. Ford

One of the SS agents shot along with Reagan was most upset by Hinckley’s release, especially because the judge doing so didn’t consult him.

Sounds like he knew more about Hinckley’s motives about who he really wanted to assassinate in order to impress stress Jodi Foster, and was opposed to any release.

To offset such public concern about political assassinations, though, Brit Michael Sandford, who tried to assassinate Trump back in June at Las Vegas, has been allowed to plead guilty to being an illegal alien with a gun who disrupted government business.

            No assassination attempt here!!!

The BBC biaise is almost embarrassing. The other day on Radio 4s Feedback some listeners complained that the coverage of the anti Brexit demonstrations was non existent..There was ‘no one available for comment’ was the reply. No one from BBC Radio 4 could be found. Their written reply was to the effect that each news item is scrutinised for news value and the protests were not deemed to be as important as other items so was only really thought to be worthy of Twitter!

Luxembourg Foreign Minister Jean Asselborn has called for Hungary to be suspended or even expelled from the European Union because of its “massive violation” of EU fundamental values.

He cited the Budapest government’s treatment of refugees, independence of the judiciary and freedom of the press.

“Hungary is not far away from issuing orders to open fire on refugees,” he suggested.

EU leaders meet in Slovakia on Friday to discuss the union’s future.

Mr Asselborn’s interview with German daily Die Welt is likely to inflame passions ahead of the summit.

The EU could not tolerate “such inappropriate behaviour”, he said, and any state that violated such basic values “should be excluded temporarily, or if necessary for ever, from the EU”. It was “the only possibility to protect the cohesion and values of the European Union,” he said.

This is unprecedented The E.U. to consider throwing out a member country.
The United Kingdom has just voted by Referendum to voluntarily leave the E.U.

Are the final nails being driven into the coffin?

Now this is very important, it means the BBC believe this story.
It also, with other news, is an indicator that the migrant crisis is bringing the E.U. to its knees.
You can hear the death knell ringing out.

  • Becky Cohen

I can well understand this. The Beeb are definitely biased towards conservatism politically. They still won’t feature same-sex dancing couples on Strictly which is the sort of thing that only a handful of deranged US Republican religious nut jobs would even give a fig about nowadays.

    • Loony

If the BBC are biased toward conservatism then they must have created their own definition of the word.

The BBC are biased on favor of the complete destruction of the economy through money printing. They are biased in favor of creating a European wide civil war through the importation of millions of migrants who are being imported into an entirely fictional economy. They are biased in favor of an absolute hatred of young people through their cheer leading for ever lower wages and ever higher asset prices. They are biased in favor of promoting war with anyone at all and possibly most fatally in favor of war with Russia. So great is their bias against Russia that they are fully prepared to embrace Nazis in the Ukraine.

Not even the weather forecast is safe from the bias of the BBC who were fully prepared to lie about actual weather conditions in NYC.

Still I guess all that pales in comparison to their alleged refusal to feature same sex dancing couples.

Daily Mail: Hillary Clinton ‘HATES’ President Obama for defeating her in 2008, according to Colin Powell’s leaked emails and ‘was so sick giving speech she could barely walk up steps’:

In another March 2015 email exchange between the two [Colin Powell and private equity investor Jeffrey Leeds] the men talk about Clinton’s health, with Leeds stating that Rhode Island Senator Sheldon Whitehouse informed him that ‘she could barely climb the podium steps’ when the two gave a speech at the same event a few months prior.
