    “fails to mention”

Who wants to be part of ‘a union’ where black is white and honour is deceit?

  • DoNNyDarKo

Under reporting ,non reporting, censorship,it’s the BBC propaganda machine in full swing.
An Orange March becomes a No rally, against the Nationalistic and divisive policies of the Independence movement.Mao Tse Tung was for the free market and Obama is anti war.
Meanwhile in Inverness and Glasgow, things just never happened,

The fabric of lies has become so apparent in this campaign that I doubt anybody on both sides really believes what they read or hear anymore.

Two horrible skeletons in his cupboard, then. Does anybody north of Watford still read the Torygraph? Why?

I have several friends in the No camp – William Dalrymple is one; Alistair Carmichael is another. I have no doubt they will remain friends in future. But some aspects of the No campaign are not legitimate, the behaviour of the BBC being the most obvious.

  • Hugh Kerr

Oh Craig you are naughty, dont worry Dalrymple lives in Dehli and doesnt have a vote in Scotland! He is of course still a very good writer!

    BBC

The BBC genuinely stands to lose substantially from independence, and qualifies as a vested interest. While Murdoch has so far been equivocal, he’s looking to pick up some business should Scotland separate – hence the chumminess with Salmond – and the mutual loathing between the BBC and NewsCorp ensures that the BBC has reasons in addition to being the State broadcaster to oppose independence. Murdoch’s anti the British establishment (which doesn’t make him a champion of liberty for all, though):

    http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/scottish-independence-rupert-murdoch-poised-back-yes-campaign-1464566

…and if he leans in thhe Yes direction, the move will be based on poll results. So far NewsCorp has been equivocal – its English outlets being generally No.

MOCKING OUR US EMPIRE’S UK CATAMITES

    WEE GINGER DUG

    Previously from Craig.

There was a much-parodied ‘No’ campaign TV ad that was patronising, sexist, and insulting to Scottish women voters. But why would you expect anything else from the pro-Westminster liars!? It’s worth watching in order to appreciate the parodies and ruthless mocking it received.

    BOW TO YOUR IMPERIAL MASTERS

Then one hundred carpet bagging Labour MPs took the train from London to Glasgow for a ‘No’ campaign photo op.

They got a typically Glasgwegian welcome from a ‘Yes’ campaign genius on a cycle rickshaw who played the Star Wars Imperial (Death?) March soundtrack at high volume, dogging the MPs for ten minutes and inviting the crowd to “Bow down to your Imperial Masters.”

HA! It was quickly pointed out that the Labour Liar MPs were getting pay and expenses – from Scottish and UK voters – to insult voter’s intelligence. No change there, then!

As someone yet to decided which side to support, I have to say that I fear for the legitimacy of the result IF it is as close as they say. In other words, if it turns out to be 51% – 49% for either side then that effectively means that half of the population, give or take have had something foisted upon them that they did not want. This is not something that will bode well in the aftermath of this Referendum. A lot of ill feeling and bitterness is sure to ensue- and is something that genuinely worries me.

  • Resident Dissident

I would be be careful Craig, there were 3 Murrays signing the Act of Union and 2 were against. Murrays have a long history of fighting on both sides of the argument and perhaps switching from one to the other. Perhaps it has something to do with their Belgian ancestry

    GET REAL ?

    PERFIDIOUS ALBION

Why would the UK elite – satraps of the US Empire, fully implicated in torture-to-death, murder, illegal war and ‘rendition for extermination’ on ‘lesser breeds’ abroad – not do the same to ‘uppity natives’ at home if push came to shove?

And posters should not overlook the possibility of a bit of professional jealousy as William Dalrymple’s Return of a King about the first war for British control of Afghanistan is up for several awards.

  • OldMark

    I have several friends in the No camp – William Dalrymple is one;

And Dalrymple does have the humility to admit that, as an ex pat in Delhi, he isn’t necessarily up to speed on the finer points of the independence debate.

Komodo @11.12- we’ve had some disagreements on the Scots independence issue, but this morning’s comment re Murdoch is spot-on.

  • Ba'al Zevul (For Scotland)

Thanks, Old Mark – always happy to debate civilly with other points of view. As you seem to be.

  • Miss Castello

The Queen’s stuck her neb in now; (6 pm news, Radio Four) advising her loyal subjects to “think very carefully before casting their vote”. If that isn’t a direct reference against a YES’vote, I don’t know what is. Absolutely disgraceful.

  • Abe Rene

@Miss Castello “The Queen’s .. advising her loyal subjects to “think very carefully before casting their vote”.

People should think very carefully before making a very important decision, don’t you think? The voters in Scotland are as a collective making a historic decision of the sort that rulers make, and that requires wisdom from Above; I wish it to them in full measure.

  • ESLO

Strangely enough Miss Castello’s dissident voice article makes no mention of the Scots involvement in England’s imperial exploits. Wouldn’t want to influence all those careless people voting yes, would we?
