Werritty’s Chum Gould Cheers on Gaza Genocide 103

Where is the British Ambassador to Israel Matthew Gould, who has put so much effort into promoting himself as a self-proclaimed “Jewish Zionist”? What has he to say while the people in Gaza are being massacred even as they shelter in UN facilities?

Well two days ago he was attending the swearing in of new Israeli President Rivlin, together with a British delegation of weird right wing folk, including Baroness Pauline Neville Jones, favourite “security expert” of the BBC, Stuart Polak of Conservative Friends of Israel, and New Labour public school and Oxford right winger Paul Spellar.

But surely the British Ambassador to Israel has spoken out in public about the terrible carnage in Gaza?

He most certainly has. Gould has reflected the massive indignation of the British people by stating that:

“This was a conflict triggered by Hamas raining down on Israel hundreds and hundreds of rockets fired indiscriminately at Israeli towns and cities. Israel has a right and even an obligation to defend it citizens.”

Gould paid a pro-Israeli propaganda visit to Sderot, the Israeli chosen destination for media reports about Hamas rocket attacks, and the place where Israelis hold parties to watch people being blown apart in Gaza. Gould spoke of having to take his own family into the bomb shelter in Tel Aviv when sirens sounded from Hamas attacks.

Matthew Gould was a long term collaborator of Adam Werritty, having held meetings with him over a decade in Tehran, Washington, Israel and London, at most but not all of which Liam Fox was also present. The Foreign and Commonwealth Office refuse to list these meetings or say who was present and what was discussed, even though Gould met Werritty including when Gould was Private Secretary to both David Miliband and William Hague.

I have no hesitation whatsoever in stating that what is happening in Gaza is a part of a continuing process of deliberate genocide of the Palestinian people by the Israelis. When I have previously stated this, some commenters have taken issue with the word genocide. I see no other word that fits.

This chilling article by Martin Sherman, Head of the Israeli Institute of Strategic Studies, calling for Gaza to be ethnically cleansed of all Palestinians, should open the eyes of some of those who refuse to see that Israel is no longer a morally defensible entity. The 3,600 Facebook shares of this evil are evidence of how the madness of fascism has overtaken the citizens of Israel.

fascism

This banner on Herzl Boulevard expresses what has become the catchphrase for the extermination of Palestinians “There are no innocents in Gaza“. This justification of the extermination even of women and children should evoke parallels for Jewish people which are too obvious for me to emphasise. Yet this extraordinary slogan, justifying genocide, is supported and repeated by huge sectors of the Israeli populace.

I wonder how long it will be before we hear it from Matthew Gould?

That’s how to do it, Mary.

Don’t go there. Don’t buy their products. Don’t do book tours. Don’t hold concerts. Refuse their invitations. Don’t host their events.

    Shun them. They are outcast.

Why do these nasty tunnels exist? Why do these underground trade routes represent the facts on the ground? very confusing for all trhat comment on them.
Could it be that they are a response to an ongoing economic siege, for years, denying close to 1.8million people for what they need and want?, a reaction by Gazan’s to help themselves. Its not that these tunnels are just for waterpipes, thats hebrew for missiles, but food and medicine and urgent help to many.
This does not pass the duck test, as shown by passerby.

Shooting at fishermen feeding their families and boys playing football on the beach, not allowing aid ships and or convoys enter by sea, refusing to allow a harbour or two to keep Gaza in a lucrative dependencies relationship, does not pass the duck test either.

Like a big shower of dark hypocrisy flakes falling from the sky, our politicians can find time to condemn inhumanity in the Ukraine, Russia, they can get work themselves into a lather about FGM and children being forced by parents and conventions to ‘have it done’, but

THEY CAN’T BRING IT UPON THEMSELVES TO CONDEMN THE VIOLENCE AGAINST INNOCENT IN GAZA? CAN’T EVEN SAY THAT ISRAELS RESPONSES ARE DISPROPORTIONATE.

despicable and telling. This is why everyone should vote and vote with their brains at the next GE. Any party that is partial to FoI should be shunned, every candidate should be asked as to what they did to speak out, complain, made their views knows, or why they cowered silently, watching Israels fascists, in fear of being singled out by a cabal of beasts.

Israel has lost the moral support it once had due to its history, it is not the victim anymore, but the fascist aggressor and it is supported by US politicians, some of who have been trained in the Straussian zionist ways and who now call the shots in political republican circles.

    Zionist logic:

“Restricting the freedom of movement of entire communities is immoral. Refraining from these restrictions when there is unequivocal proof that this will lead to the murder of innocents is worse, because movement restricted can later be granted, while dead will never live again.

Demolishing the homes of civilians merely because a family member has committed a crime is immoral. If, however,… potential suicide murderers… will refrain from killing out of fear that their mothers will become homeless, it would be immoral to leave the Palestinian mothers untouched in their homes while Israeli children die on their school buses.

Accidentally killing noncombatants in the cross fire of battles being fought in the middle of cities is immoral, unless… refraining from fighting in the Palestinian cities inevitably means the Palestinians will use the safe havens of their cities to plan, prepare and launch ever more murderous attacks on Jewish noncombatants.

These concrete examples and others like them demonstrate the moral considerations that Israelis… have been dealing with since the Palestinians proudly decided to use suicide murder as their primary weapon.”

You don’t seem to disagree about media’s role in the game, although you use different words to describe the same effect.

So far as mandates and localism are concerned I’d just say that were Israelis to receive from Western media the condemnation they deserve then they’d be much more circumspect in their crimes.

They know they have cover, you see.

  • canexpat

I do wonder how much of the craven attitude of the UK government to Israeli war crimes is down to the threat of old-fashioned blackmail. Following the revelations about the sexual tastes of so many British M.P.s, and given the willingness of the UK Security Service to use Kincorra as leverage in N.I. it is not too much of a stretch.

were Israelis to receive from Western media the condemnation they deserve then they’d be much more circumspect in their crimes.

Maybe, but such is the mindset created now is that they see bias already where none exists, and any further criticism dismissed as anti-semitism. This way, you can maintain a siege mentality. From a communications perspective, you have to admire it for it’s apparent bulletproof nature.

However, its a sadly warped ideology with even worse consequences.

  • Herbie

    Yes. They’re transcendental victims.

    MOPEs.

    Most Oppressed People Ever.

Good trick that. Always comes in handy.

I think there’s a tradition in comedy which plays around with this.

  • Ba'al Zevul (With Gaza)

Maybe, but such is the mindset created now is that they see bias already where none exists, and any further criticism dismissed as anti-semitism.

Provokes the thought that antinazism is generally considered an honourable occupation. How we play with words, eh?

If ‘antisemitism’ implied “opposing land theft and the periodic sacking of a refugee ghetto”, it might be a charge less often made by Israel and its cheerleaders.

    Hmmmmm

    Not your usual headline:

“France moves to disband violent Jewish group”

    http://www.middle-east-online.com/english/?id=67379

    Agents provocateur.

“The French LDJ denies breaking French laws. It takes inspiration however from the far-right Jewish Defense League, labelled a terrorist organisation by the FBI in 2001.

It also uses the emblem of a banned Israeli far-right party, the Kach, a raised fist inside a black Star of David, set against a yellow backing.”

I’d have thought that mainstream Israeli opinion was right wing enough, but no, it seems.

Naughty Mr Mayor Rahman. You must try to be a better boy. You must know that the only flags allowed by the ConDems are the Union Flag aka The Butcher’s Apron and/or the double sided version which has a Saltire on the reverse. 🙂

Nice one Mr Brandon Lewis. Been to Israel lately? No CFoI haven’t signed you up yet I see.

“Mr. Murray, your statement that the current operation is part of a “continuing process of deliberate genocide of the Palestinian people by the Israelis” just bears no relation to the facts. The number of civilians killed by Israel is monstrous and tragic, but it’s about the crappiest attempt at genocide in the past 200 years. ”

It isn’t numbers which determine genocide, it is intent.

Over the years the map of Israeli territory has grown steadily larger while the Palestinian territories have diminished. If the intention of the killing and inhumane treatment is to one day reach a point where Palestine and Palestinians no longer exist then the process is genocide.

I am sure lawyers and scholars could debate the issue endlessly but at the moment yourself and Craig can only offer a personal opinion not a statement of fact.

Interesting article, touching on some of the media issues raised above:

“US media finally acknowledges Gazans’ plight”

    http://blogs.aljazeera.com/blog/middle-east/us-media-finally-acknowledges-gazans-plight

I’m not entirely sure how this differs that much from our experience of Cast Lead.

Media initially gives cover to Israeli attacks and then when it all becomes a bit too much they backtrack slightly, by which time of course the Israeli objecvtives are mostly met.

That seems to be the calculus.

Whilst your attitude to the conflict is commendable, the sad reality is that you are just one of an overwhelmed minority. The polls taken in Israel during the last three major Israeli attacks have all been around about the 90% region of approval. I’m sure you don’t wish to be involved in a genocide of Palestinians but I’m not so sure about the other 90% of Israelis.
Your wish to see senior Hamas politicians alongside the usual suspects in war crimes prosecution is also misguided. Hamas are dealing from a very poor set of cards. The comparisons don’t work because the resistance can’t compete on any level with the Israelis and haven’t got an Iron Dome and have no jet planes or tanks. They have to do whatever they can with whatever they have and that, due to the blockade is very little. Ideally, I would like to see them armed with precision weapons to avoid civilian casualties but then again, Israel’s precision weapons seem to continually go astray.
Lastly, I’m afraid even if Hamas stock their weapons in the corner of the playground with a big sign on them saying ‘Hamas rockets’ targeting a place where youngsters are likely to be or indeed any none combatants is reprehensible.

    A call for genocide:

“Behind every terrorist stand dozens of men and women, without whom he could not engage in terrorism. They are all enemy combatants, and their blood shall be on all their heads. Now this also includes the mothers of the martyrs, who send them to hell with flowers and kisses. They should follow their sons, nothing would be more just. They should go, as should the physical homes in which they raised the snakes. Otherwise, more little snakes will be raised there.”

Ayelet Shaked Jewish Home party. July 7th 2014 (Facebook).

    P.s.
Genocide entails also the Conspiracy to commit genocide; Direct and PUBLIC INCITEMENT to commit genocide; Attempt to commit genocide; and Complicity in genocide.

“As the security cabinet meets, Israel decides to enact a limited humanitarian ceasefire from 3 to 7 p.m. [local time].
“The humanitarian window will not apply to the areas in which IDF soldiers are currently operating,” says the army in a statement. “Residents must not return to areas that have previously been asked to evacuate.”

Hamas called this Israeli “We will not shoot except where we will shoot” ceasefire a publicity stunt.

It may have been something worse than that. It probably was trap:

GAZA CITY, Palestine: At least 17 people were killed and more than 200 people wounded in an Israeli airstrike on a market near Gaza City Wednesday, medics said.
Emergency services spokesman Ashraf al-Qudra said the strike hit a busy market in the battered Shejaiya neighborhood, which lies between Gaza City and the border with Israel.

The strike came shortly after the Israeli army said it was observing a humanitarian lull that would be in force for four hours from 1200 GMT.”

Israel, thus far has escaped the Hague (Cast Lead et al) thanks to the US veto power. What will it take for accountability?

Genocide is the systematic destruction of all or part of a racial, ethnic, religious or national group via the (a) Killing members of the group; (b) Causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group; (c) Deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part;(d) Imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group; or (e) Forcibly transferring children of the group to another group.

“I write as someone who has consistently voted to end the military occupation of the West Bank and the siege of Gaza. I call on my government to unilaterally withdraw from land occupied since 1967 and to negotiate a settlement with the displaced Palestinians from 48 and 67.”

Presumably you live in Israel Mr Sevitt? Do you know the name of the flattened Palestinian town or village your home is built on?

You will know full well Mr Sevitt that Israel has no intention now or in future to withdraw to pre 1967 “borders”. Israel has no intention of reaching a settlement regarding displaced Palestinians.

You know full well that Zionism, political or religious, is a racist ideology that places the Jews above the Arabs.

The Zionists want all the land that was once called Palestine.

To support Zionism is to support racism and genocide.

In December 2011, Labour MP Paul Flynn had accused British Jewish ambassador to Israel, Matthew Gould, of being more loyal to Israel than Britain. “He has divided loyalties because he has proclaimed himself to be a Zionist“.

Matthew Gould in his official position conspired with Liam Fox and Adam Werritty to prepare ground for British attack on Iran. British daily The Independent claimed on January 8, 2012 that Werritty even met Miliband. On Saturday, Britain announced its plan to send its mightest warship HMS Daring to challenge Iran plans to conduct a new military drills in February under the name “The Great Prophet“. The drill is to show Iran’s capability to shut-down the Strait of Hormuz.

Nevermind; Sociopaths comprise about 1-3% of the population so it’s not surprising the IDF has this sniper asshole.

The chilling thing is he ‘twittered’ that knowing there was no accountability. Christ almighty, do you know what a Barrett 50 cal will do to a body?

  • nevermind, it will happen anyway

I do, Ben I do. It will ripp you apart into shreds and kill you instantly even if you are nearly 2 miles away.

We have to realise that this will be an election issue, whether the media likes it or not. Milliband could speak out and make most of these 85% of us who don’t agree with this course of action, but fears the wrath of israel more than that of the electorate, very telling.

How far is he up Bibi’s arse, not to speak of all his colegues in both houses. Is British politics homogenously pro Israel, regardless of their genocidal maniacs in charge?
