The Incredible Bias of the BBC 648

The right wing bias of BBC Question Time tonight staggers belief, even for the BBC. One Francoist, two Tories, the still more right wing Chukka Umunna, all “balanced” by Akala, who thankfully has more brains, and certainly more compassion, than the rest put together.

Esther McVey, Tory. Champion of the rape clause, minister implementing benefit cuts and promoting privatised benefits assessments, lobbyist against regulating gambling machines. One of the very nastiest of Tories.

Chloe Westley Another Tory. Here representing the tiny far right fringe group the “Taxpayers Alliance”. Proponent of fierce benefit cuts. Studying the rampantly Islamophobic counter-terrorism course at St Andrews University. Her twitter handle is “LowTaxChloe” which is all you need to know.

Alejandro Agag Another Tory, invited by the BBC as a “businessman”. Former MEP for the Francoist Spanish Popular Party – the current government in Spain which is busy jailing as many political prisoners in Catalonia as they can get their hands on, and is happy sending in paramilitary thugs to club old Catalan ladies waiting to vote.

Chuka Umunna Full time taxpayer-funded right wing campaigner against Jeremy Corbyn.

Akala Very decent guy. Performing this year at our Doune the Rabbit Hole festival for which you should pull your finger out and get buying tickets now.

Why is the BBC permitted, day after day after day, to pump out programming which actively promotes a political programme far to the right of where the British population actually stand? With the continual over-representation of nutty right wing groups like the Taxpayers’ Alliance and the Henry Jackson Society, while left wing groups of much larger membership such as Stop the War are completely ignored. Why low tax campaigners but no invitation ever to groups like Black Triangle who represent claimants interests? Not to mention the routine ignoring of the SNP, parliament’s third largest party.

I strongly urge you not to pay your TV license to fund this barrage of right wing propaganda. I and thousands of others in Scotland have refused to pay since 2014, and other than lots of silly threatening letters nothing has happened. Just stop paying for this nonsense.

Palestine Solidarity – last night in London

    ‘Published on 12 May 2018
Noisy Zionist counter demo to the protest. Anyone daring to criticize Israel is obviously an anti-Semite and/or a self hating traitor. Isn’t it amazing how ugly Israel’s supporters have become, both in mind and body. Their indoctrination in militarism, the Holocaust and racial superiority doesn’t actually make them very attractive human beings. Lobby attempts to drown out any alternative narrative to Zionism will of course fail and truth will ultimately prevail.’

I think that the man in the cap at 4.01 in is the Palestinian Ambassador, Manuel Hassassian.
At 8.08 it’s Jenny Tonge. The Zionist Israel supporting Nick Clegg took the LD whip in the Lords away from her.
    Followed by Lindsey German, STWC

Good ones at the end. Two protesters wearing face masks of Trump and May with placards reading ‘Collaborators in Israeli Terrorism against Palestinians’ and maps showing the diminishing size of ‘Palestine’.

Blast the noisy Israel supporters opposite. Too scared to hear the truth.

Solidarity bro. I was there. Lot of police, considering. Also they were v.preoccupied by flags !!

BBC radio, that I heard, that morning “reported” on the Gaza demos but made no mention of the casualty figures or who had been shot. They mentioned the name Hamas repeatedly though.

    • Charles Bostock

If you approve of the principle of demonstrating, should you not also acknowledge the right of people of the opposite view to counter-demonstrate?

Let us remember that when Mosley’s fascists demonstrated in the East End in the 1930s there were also counter-demonstrations. Not a bad thing, surely?

As for ‘noisiness’, well, they’re not competing in the Eurovision Song Contest, are they.

  • Sharp Ears

Good on you. I would have been there if I was able.

I can’t tell you how many times I went up to Kensington High Street to protests facing the Israeli embassy in Palace Green. Craig Murray spoke there a couple of times, once after thousands of us marched from Hyde Park. The most annoying thing was seeing the rich being driven by chauffeurs in their limos with their eyes averted. Most of the people on the top of buses and in vehicles cheered and gave encouragement.

I was nearly kettled once with the Met helicopter overhead and the riot lot with their German Shepherds parked up in the side streets in unmarked vans. Some of the Palestinian kids were arrested and some were jailed. Others fined.

It was out and out police provocation. Those young people now have criminal records.

That protest was after Cast Lead in January 2009.

I haven’t watched television for a number of years – things must have changed, because last time I subjected myself to the BBC I found it infested with politically correct leftists peddling cultural Marxist nonsense.

  • William MacInnes

Did you see Akala’s on Frankie Boyle’s show? (it’s on youtube) – he’s incredibly articulate, I’m really looking forward to see what he has to say.

Why on earth does the Tax Payers Alliance get constant coverage from the BBC? They’re given in inordinate platform compared to hundreds – if not thousands – of similar organisations that are vying for airtime!

Also, I’m not entirely sure it’s totally fair to call Chukka straight up ‘right wing’, for sure on the right of Labour, but he’s certainly not in the same basket as Cash and Bone and Rees-Mogg and Chope!!!

    • glenn_nl

Can you think of any left-leaning policies that Chukka promotes – real left wing policies that is, not to-the-left of someone else? Someone doesn’t stop being right-wing just because they’re on the same panel as an actual fascist. If I sat next to a Marxist, that doesn’t make me right wing.

Agreed that the BBC’s indulgence of the taxpayer’s alliance is curious. A search on the terms taxpayer’s alliance and BBC returns a lot of results – mostly of the BBC giving airtime to the views of the TA, and of pages from the TA attacking the BBC.

I suppose it’s rather like what we’ve seen in the US for over a generation now – the corporate media is constantly accused of having a “liberal bias”, so they go a long way out of their way to try to dispel the supposed impression. Buoyed with success, the right wing calls them the “liberal media” all the more.

      • Tony_0pmoc

        glenn_nl,

” If I sat next to a Marxist, that doesn’t make me right wing.”

As you are a biker, I assume you are fairly well balanced, and can come close to scraping both your left and right knees, on the ground, as you go round bends. I used to do this too…

However, my analysis of what you have written over the last nearly 10 years, strongly suggests to me, that you are far more right wing than me, even if you are Welsh, and I really like most Welsh people I have met.

        Tony

        • glenn_nl

          Hello Tony,

I’ll certainly take what you say under consideration. Most of the people I hang around with consider me quite a lefty, so it’s a bit of a surprise to hear this. My wife also rightly despises Tories and right-wingers of any kind.

Don’t you feel concerned about quoting decidedly right-wing tropes such as global climate change denial, bashing Democratic party nominees and so lending favour to genuine fascists such as Trump, giving support to conspiracy theories in order to deny there’s a problem with a rampant gun-culture, that sort of thing? I support none of these examples, because I don’t have any interest in being a foot soldier for the far right.

“Abdel Hakim Belhaj rendition: ex-minister Malcolm Rifkind calls for inquiry”

Good , because if Rifkind wants to make political capital out of Blair poodling to Bush, I’d like the opportunity to make some tit-for-tat-ical out of Cameron, Hague poodling to Obama BOTH in relation to the conquest of Libyan by jihadist cunts who have decimated the civilian Muslim population AND in relation to Cameron and Johnson’s illegal war-crimes in Syria, where they have alledgedly been brought to book by Russia and China.

I will welcome the opportunity to crush his tight little political smirk and pert little Scottish accent up his tight little privy council. Needless to say he will never do it, but it makes him look big, daring to suggest this government is open to questioning. This government is wall to wall opaquest Maggienolia paint with ceilings of whitest official whitewash. I am unhappy that the Attorney General who applied the Belhaj whitewash lives so close to Birmingham. it’s like overlooking a graveyard and seeing spooks creeping around in the moonlight.

The accord signed by Iran and major powers in 2015 imposed strict limits on Iran’s atomic activities to help ensure they are not put to developing nuclear bombs in exchange for the lifting of international sanctions against Tehran.

‘Ecuador hints it may hand over Julian Assange to Britain and the US’:
    https://countercurrents.org/2018/05/12/ecuador-hints-it-may-hand-over-julian-assange-to-britain-and-the-us/

‘Julian Assange is in immense danger. Remarks made this week by Ecuador’s foreign minister suggest that her government may be preparing to renege on the political asylum it granted to the WikiLeaks editor in 2012 and hand him over to British and then American authorities.
On March 28, under immense pressure from the governments in the US, Britain and other powers, Ecuador imposed a complete ban on Assange having any Internet or phone contact with the outside world, and blocked his friends and supporters from physically visiting him. For 45 days, he has not been heard from.
Ecuadorian Foreign Minister Maria Fernanda Espinosa stated in a Spanish-language interview on Wednesday that her government and Britain “have the intention and the interest that this be resolved.” Moves were underway, she said, to reach a “definite agreement” on Assange….’

Big time bad news; now what can be done?

  • giyane

    Paul Barbara

That is bad news for Assange and for justice, and for truth.

Nobody has done more than Assange to expose the lies of Political Islam or Islamism, which poses as enemies to the colonial powers of the West, but which has been working hand in glove with them to capture the last remaining deposits of big oil in the Muslim lands. they swap coloured beads for land, sorry , despotic power for oil rights. nobody can colonise a foreign land without these atheist gewads. Even if Assange is deeply disinterested in the truth of Islam, Islam is deeply interested in his fate.

While I write in the Iraqi elections votes are being counted and fraud being typed. The Arab mind has absolutely no understanding or affinity with the idea that the people should choose how their country should be governed.Zilch. Democracy in their eyes is a foolish mistake by the West by which power can easily be grabbed by whoever has the Saudi dollars to bribe the vote counters the most. Not only is there zero respect for anyone without power, but that zero respect is turned into absolute disrespect. Muslim governments are all in league with colonial western powers and they all exchange power for themselves for colonial theft.

I find myself in exactly the same position as the colonial occupiers of India who rejected their own society and ” went native ” converting to Islam and marrying Indian womenfolk. The colonial world despises me as an outcast and the “Indian” world despises me as being of absolutely no benefit in the life’s work of crawling up the rectums of the colonial powers in order to get powerful and rich. I’m not saying this is the position that Julian Assange finds himself in. I’m saying thanks to Julian who is opposed as vehemently by the colonial criminals as the Muslim criminals who want power and cash from our bunch.

One thing’s for certain in Ramadhan I will not be crawling up the colonial backside brigades of sparkling Tory approved jihadist mosques. I always pray in a small Bengali Madrassah where the green carpet is as hard as nails and the people always polite. I don’t get the gushing fluency of Saudi-trained hafizes of the Qur’an, but more importantly I don’t get told , like the Catholic church pre 1640, that I’m a worthless scrap of society, unworthy of presenting myself in obedience to my maker in a mosque. if Julian Assange is extradited to the US, he will not be caving in to Zionist trump any more than I cave in to Zionist jihadists.
Hasbiallahu la ilaha illahu wa tawakaltu ‘alaihi, wa huwa rabbul ‘arshiladheem
Sufficient for me is Allah, there is no God but Him, in whom I put my trust, and he is the Lord of the Throne of Omnipotence.

We are not far today from the religious persecutions of the Middle Ages through to the 18th century, because we have a fundamentalist Zionism, a fundamentalist Christianity , both funding and manufacturing an Islamic fundamentalism through torture rendition brainwashing that was developed by the Nazis in Germany and exported secretly to the US..

One thing’s for sure, no Englishman will ever permit an Asian or an Arab zealot who despises the people as scum, here or in their own countries, to subject him to the indignities of Papism, in a modern English mosque or a modern US jail. Na be. Not going to happen. Don’t mess with civil rights won by civil war in 1640. Fortunately for us the world’s nuttiest protagonists are in prison in Idlib. http://www.ekathimerini.com/228495/article/ekathimerini/news/chemical-attack-accusations-fake-assad-tells-kathimerini-in-exclusive-interview

‘…There have been accusations from the US and the Europeans about the use of chemical weapons, and there was an attack after that. What is your response to that? Was there a chemical attack? Were you responsible for it?

First of all, we don’t have a chemical arsenal since we gave it up in 2013, and the international agency for chemical weapons conducted investigations about this, and it’s clear or documented that we don’t have any. Second, even if we did have, we wouldn’t use them, for many different reasons. But let’s put these two points aside, let’s presume that this army has chemical weapons and it’s in the middle of the war; where should it be used? At the end of the battle? They should use it somewhere in the middle, or where the terrorists made an advancement, not where the army finished the battle and the terrorists gave up and said, “We are ready to leave the area,” and the army is fully in control of that area. So the Western narrative started after the victory of the Syrian Army, not before. When we finished the war, they said, “They used chemical weapons……..”

President Assad states the issues clearly and honestly, unlike our lying Western ‘Dear Leaders’.

’51 School Children Hospitalized After Mass Poisoning in Ukraine’:
    http://21stcenturywire.com/2018/05/11/51-children-hospitalized-after-mass-poisoning-in-school-in-ukraine/

‘Authorities in Ukraine are investigating an outbreak of sickness believed to be a poisoning that sent 51 students and two teachers to the hospital in the city of Cherkasy in Central Ukraine, the State Service for Emergencies said Tuesday in a statement. The cause of the poisoning is still unknown.
According to the statement, those sickened showed such symptoms as vomiting, dizziness and headache. Fifteen children aged between 7 and 15 years old lost consciousness. Eleven children are currently in intensive care. Others affected are hospitalized in satisfactory condition. Local authorities have set up a special commission to establish what caused the alleged poisoning.

This is not the first such case in Ukraine. Over the last few years a number of cases related to poisoning (including botulinum toxin poisoning) and other incurable diseases have been reported across the country. The source of the outbreaks has never been identified. Their number has increased dramatically since the start of the Pentagon biological research program in the former Soviet Union country, which borders on the US main rival – Russia…..’

Wouldn’t surprise me if they tried to pin this on Putin too.

    Here’s a map of the US Bio-Weapons Labs: http://dilyana.bg/the-pentagon-bio-weapons/

And here’s a quote from Cathy O’Brien’s ‘Access Denied: For Reasons of National Security’:
‘…According to New World Order plans being discussed at the Grove, plans for reducing the earth’s population was a high priority. Mass genocide of so-called ”undesirables” through the proliferation of AIDS was high on Bush’s agenda. ”We’ll annihilate the ni**ers at their source, beginning in South and East Africa and Haiti.” Having heard Bush say those words is by far one of the most torturous things I ever endured. Equally as torturous to my being were the discussions on genetic engineering, human cloning, and depletion of earth’s natural resources for profit. Cheney remarked that no one would be able to think to stop technology’s plan. ”I’ll destroy the planet first,” Bush had vowed.’

(Copied verbatim, page 168 ‘Access Denied: For Reasons of National Security’ by Cathy O’Brien with Mark Phillips. A footnote also points to Chapter 23, ‘Whirled Vision’, of ‘Trance Formation of America’ by same authors.)

Considering the terrible diseases spreading across Africa – a deadly Bubonic airborne plague last year, Lassa Fever, Marburg disease, Ebola virus, Aids and the Cholera outbreak in Haiti, Cathy O’Brien’s recollections seem to be backed up by events.

    13 May 2018 | 01:46 GMT

‘Freshly-crowned Eurovision queen Netta Barzilai struck fire with her victory speech, as she invited viewers to see next year’s song contest in the occupied Jerusalem, not the internationally-recognized Israeli capital Tel Aviv.

Barzilai, who was a favorite to win the contest, clinched first place with her song “Toy,” riding the wave of female empowerment. But it was not only the catchy tune that made Twitter erupt after the show but also the highly polarizing statement Netta made on stage after being proclaimed as the winner.

Even worse than the landscape, is (or will be – every drill-hole will leak, sooner or later) the water-table damage, which will be permanent.

      • Michael McNulty

It’s crazy this talk of fracking for energy independence when the poisons it puts in the ground mean we lose our water independence. Gas is a consumable; use it once and it’s gone, whereas water is supposed to be recyclable until the sun burns out. Not anymore after fracking. A lot of the toxins will either evaporate with the water and fall with it as rain, or residues remain to poison the water again and become even more concentrated and deadly.

I can’t help but think the real reason for fracking is it’s a part of the population reduction Agenda 21. This bunch of Nazis, same as the first bunch. Hitler’s going to win the war maybe eighty years after he died.

        • Jo Dominich

Michael, My understanding is that the USA, being seriously opposed to Russia’s gas pipelines to Europe, are intent on selling LPN fracked gas to Europe at three times the price of Russia’s genuine oil. Poland has just succumbed to US pressure to by its LPN as opposed to purchasing Russia’s oil at a much cheaper rate. That, as far as I can tell, is the real agenda, to have another pop at Putin and undermine the Russian Economy. Well, it’s going to fail just like everything else Trump has done because Russia and China have just signed a significant energy deal.

While Ivanka Trump prays for peace at the Western wall the brave young men of Gaza fight for survival and endure the poison of Israeli blitzkrieg.

Mark, and to my dismay, Israel has once again bombed Gaza, and the international community stands by and does nothing – not impose sanctions against Israel, nothing. Netanyahoo should be in the Hague being tried as the war criminal that he undoubtedly is.
