The Impossible Photo 1229

UPDATE

I am prepared to acknowledge that, given the gate design, they could have passed through different gates in exact synchronicity and this may be a red herring. I am leaving this post up here as it is good to acknowledge mistakes. Please read my updated post Skripals – The Mystery Deepens

Russia has developed an astonishing new technology enabling its secret agents to occupy precisely the same space at precisely the same time.

These CCTV images released by Scotland yard today allegedly show Alexander Petrov and Ruslan Boshirov both occupying exactly the same space at Gatwick airport at precisely the same second. 16.22.43 on 2 March 2018. Note neither photo shows the other following less than a second behind.

There is no physically possible explanation for this. You can see ten yards behind each of them, and neither has anybody behind for at least ten yards. Yet they were both photographed in the same spot at the same second.

The only possible explanations are:
1) One of the two is travelling faster than Usain Bolt can sprint
2) Scotland Yard has issued doctored CCTV images/timeline.

I am going with the Met issuing doctored images.

UPDATE

A number of people have pointed out a third logical possibility, that the photographs are not of the same place and they are coming through different though completely identical entry channels. The problem with that is the extreme synchronicity. You can see from the photos that the channel(s) are enclosed and quite long, and they would have had to enter different entrances to the channels. So it is remarkable they were at exactly the same point at the same time. Especially as one of them appears to be holding (wheeled?) luggage and one has only a shoulder bag.
I have traveled through Gatwick many times but cannot call to mind precisely where they are. Can anybody pinpoint the precise place in the airport? Before or after passport control? Before or after baggage collection? Before or after customs? The only part of the airport this looks like to me is shortly after leaving the plane after the bridge, and before joining the main gangway to passport control – in which case passengers are not split into separated channels at the stage this was taken. I can’t recall any close corridors as long as this after passport control. But I am open to correction.

You can see that this was probably taken by two different cameras. Look at the word “Pause” and what’s under it and also in one picture in the top left there is something black in one photo. Why else would there be differences in the pictures?

The corridors appear to show the “one way” area that you get to stop you turning back – the half gates and two door sequence only allow passengers through one way to stop people taking luggage from the luggage collection area back to the departures zone. In domestic arrivals in the North Terminal these one way corridors are just prior to luggage collection. If you have to go through passport control then there is presumably a similar arrangement in that route.

  • Alastair

This/these corridors seem very unlikely to me to be a normal public area – it’s not wide enough to fit a double buggy down – or tbh even a parent with children. If it is somewhere in Gatwick airport, it’s not an area where significant numbers of the general public go…

Many CCTV-Cams show several different viewports and the timestamp in the Video is the same on every viewport. If you pause the clip, also the timestamp is the same on every viewport. Maybe the pictures where split later from the police.

  • Jon

Both photos are taken using a digital camera, taking a picture of the CCTV recording. The time stamp is the time on the camera when the picture was taken. Assuming the police froze the CCTV on two monitors at the same time and and then quickly snapped shots of both monitors. This explains why the framing angle is different and you can see the monitor outline on one photo. This also explains why the time stamp is in the same place on both. No mystery here, stop trying to scream conspiracy where there is none.

    • Tony

Nope. There would be at least a one second difference. Also, cctv displays the time and date by default, whereas digital cameras hide them by default. It would require a double manual setting change to make your implausible theory to even begin to make sense.

    • Zoltan Jorovic

Why would a digital camera put the word PAUSE onto a picture? Also, how could both pictures be taken at exactly the same time on the same camera (to the second)? I accept there could be other explanations as to how the two pictures have the same time and appear to be the same location, but your explanation is simply ridiculous. It could be that the police used video editing software which froze the video and captured a frame, which would explain the PAUSE, but again, why would the time be identical? Very strange.

    • Aim Here

If that’s the case, why does the timestamp show the time for the day before the Skripals were attacked? Either it’s a mighty fishy coincidence that the digital camera has the wrong time that matches the events on the screen that it’s taking a picture of, or someone at Gatwick Airport has a weird penchant for taking random holiday snaps of CCTV monitors that just happen to come in handy later on.

  • John Dowser

Most obvious clue that it;s not the same tunnel: the U-shaped open gates left and right at the front. They are opposite shaped in each picture in terms of parallelism. Nothing to do with camera perceptive.

The issue of timing remains odd of course but perhaps secret agents are trained to walk a certain speed (j/k) The coincidence is only minor, there is an “average” pacing with these things and both happen to be around that.

Main problem is really how brazen they travel together direct from Moscow. As if the whole point is to be found later? That idea does not exclude any Russian plot though, inside or outside government. If that difference is still relevant in Russia in any case.

    • Doodlebug

Never mind the photography, how was the London hotel identified before anything had happened in Salisbury. They didn’t return to it after dropping off the perfume bottle surely?

      • Donald

Exactly. Same place same camera. Except if you flip one the date/time flips too. But they’ve made the time/date look as normal even though it’s been flipped. They’re composites. I use Photoshop for several hours a day, it would be easy to do this.

      • Anton P

What I mean is that if you rotate an image, you’ll need to zoom in to make it rectangular again.

  • Tomasz Hibner

You must be the easiest guy to fool in the audience of any elementary school amateur magician. No seriously, you are dumb, sir…

  • Aidan Magill

It’s two different cameras for sure. The top image has the camera tilted a few degrees to the left whilst the bottom image is pretty much level.
I can’t account for the times though.

A good day to bury bad news.

The appalling decision by the executive of the Labour Party to back down on the IHRA definition of AS has been drowned by this pack of lies about gobiblock. It is outrageous but not surprising that the Zionists think they can bulldoze free speech and opinion in the UK, and synchronise their crime with this tripe about Russia.

William Blake must be spinning like a centrifuge in his grave on the day they finally got round to building Jerusalem in England’s green and pleasant land.

  • Pasquale Camuso

Just pointing out that the lighting and shadows on the two are a bit weird too: if the light was coming from upside, the left hand on the second subject should have some shadow on it.

  • Clive p

Another oddity. In the Saturday and Sunday photos from Salisbury they seem to have the same clothes. But their shoes are different- trainers on Saturday but shoes on Sunday. Odd since they have no luggage bar one small rucksack.

    • Aim Here

Unusual, but not necessarily inconsistent with the official story of assassins handling dangerous chemicals. It’s possible they were preparing the nerve gas on that Saturday, and the trainers were items of disposable clothing they used for handling the chemicals (along with some overalls or something that weren’t suitable for wearing during their journey), and later destroyed.

According to Sergei’s family, he rang his mum every week. They believe that he is dead or compromised as he has not got in contact with her for weeks.

WHERE IS Sergei Scripal? Or his daughter who expressed that she eventually wanted tp return to Russia?

Has the UK Goverent silenced them?

    • RobG

      Probably murdered them.

It always baffles me that our governments routinely slaughter millions of people, yet people can’t get their head around the fact that our governments will also casually murder people in the homeland.

  • Dec

No corridor in a public building can be that narrow, so these must be the exit pens, often arranged in parallel, you see around passport control or after customs. They tend to be short, so it is perfectly possible for two people walking together to remain in synchrony: one second is a fairly long interval anyway.

Worse, that the angle and backgrounds are not the same tells you the date/time stamp would have to have been deliberately inserted after, and if so it would be spectacularly idiotic to have used exactly the same numbers. The Met would hardly commit the most outrageous fraud in recent history with so little attention to detail…

    • LenkaPenka

      Exit pens from Passport control?
      Or from where?
The Synchronicity is extremely suspicious, all sorts of events affect this.

Somebody needs to gain access to the original images or the best available and reverse engineer for tampering.

  • Lisa

The one thing I can’t quite grasp is the motivation behind either side, why would Russia have done that in the first place, and also, why are our agencies going to such lengths to try and incriminate Russia?

Honestly, if society is based on trust in the executive – ours falls waaaay short.

    • Sean Lamb

“why are our agencies going to such lengths to try and incriminate Russia?”

My speculation is they are convinced the Russians have Hillary Clinton’s emails and they are filled with goodlies likes where the sarin used in Syria is coming from. So US and UK have been in over drive to convince everyone Russia is a rogue nation and any emails that are released are fabrications.

In actual fact I don’t think the Russians do have her emails, so they are completely mystified by the utterly bonkers behaviour of the US and UK intelligence agencies at the same time these agencies are patting themselves on the back about their brilliant messaging

      • bonami

I think the short list is the one of nations that do NOT have a copy of Hillary’s emails. I am sure China and Russia have them and further there were a great many of them. For the number of Hillary’s state dept tenure emails sent to Weiner’s laptop was just under 600,000.

  • Tony

Another oddity is the outstanding quality of the cctv stills, including from Wilton Road on Salisbury’s outskirts. Compare these to the almost useless cctv images previously published from the town centre on the day of the incident. So, Salisbury mbc installs all it’s best cctv systems where they are least needed, and uses outdated ones where they are most needed? Yeah…..right.

  • Donald

Craig, The photos are from the same camera at the same place. One has been flipped to make it look different. BUT of course when you do that the time/date reverses too. Except in this case the time/date shows as normal in both of them. The Photos are clearly composites and have been photoshopped.

  • Garth Carthy

I reckon these shots were taken by a hand held camera and that explains why one shot is tilted.
If the camera had been the usual fixed cctv camera, why would one shot be straight and the other on a tilt?
I don’t subscribe to the view that there were two cameras. Why would two fixed cameras be so close together? Apart from the tilt, both viewpoints seem identical. As already pointed out, the time could have been printed on afterwards, as could the “pause” text.
Of course if these men were snapped in different tunnels, the tilt on one photo could be explained by the camera in the second tunnel being fitted with a slight skew.
Whatever the case, I find it impossible to believe that both men were photographed at exactly the same time in different tunnels – too much of a coincidence.

    • Donald

It’s the same place, same camera. Somebody has flipped one of the photos. They’re composites, somebody has photoshopped them.

  • Jim

Bunch of mindless drones here… I guess too many have been brain washed too long to learn that your govt. do lie? Always the answer is the simplest.

  • Dg1256

The corridors seem to be quite long, and not excatly the same place. In the first one, you see a spot, or a shadow, in the left lower corner, just under the number 8. It’s not there in the second photo, so I would simply think that they’re in two different but similar places, and not at the same point. As you can remark, it’s made of different sections, which are similar the one to the other. Finally: why should they manipulate the pictures in order to obtain something so absurd?

    • Goose

Hate it when people dismiss everything using the ‘Occam’s razor’ principle.

But in this case the two separate but parallel processing tunnels explanation, does seem logical at a busy airport.

  • Edward

The pattern of smudging (dirty lens) appears very similar in each image but in a different position against the bachground, ergo the camera has moved between shots, ergo, the time stamp is a forgery.

  • Jim Hogg

you can get wheeled hand luggage – use it all the time. The 2 images are taken from a slightly different angle. This airport was my local for 20 years and it has been updated where everything just looks the same

  • Sean Lamb

They seem to possess a lot of small bags. In Salisbury they have two day packs – perfect for carryon luggage. But the airport images show them only with what looks like laptop bags

  • Blissex

Even if the highly improbably government story has some reliable parts it would support much better another interpretation from a gratuitous chemical attack: that Sergey and Julia Skripal were dealing (perhaps on behalf of MI6/SIS) in black market chemicals (lots of them are toxic in high concentrations, and have nerve-agent like properties), with russian gangsters, a trade delivery was a bit screwed up, and the accident was transmuted opportunistically into a fake chemical attack.

    • LittleBat

Blissex – good post. I have always wondered if the Skripal’s poisoned themselves by accident. This would also explain the low dose – a minute trace – and so their recovery. I also found her constant back and forward to Russia noteworthy. It is as if they had business there.

  • JR Wirth

Even assuming that these are indeed two different jet bridges, what’s the mathematical possibility that these two men would reach the same exact part of each jet bridge at the same exact second?

  • Sharp Ears

Google ‘Nina Ricci Premier Jour’ parfum. There is no container that looks anything like the being shown on the media. All the containers (20 or more for different quantities etc) resemble a triple arrangement of offset glass shapes. There is no cylindrical container with a pump.

  • David Waite

They are clearly in different channels. Look closely at the bottom right and top left of each photo, showing a different background. Then look closely at the darker grey and black lines on both walls just behind the men (a fire door maybe?) The top picture has a darker panel on each side, (above the man’s shoulders in the picture.) The bottom one doesn’t.
Why is it so hard to accept that a country led by the former head of its secret service might have sent people to kill someone who betrayed the Russian secret service? It’s not as if there haven’t been plenty of other unsolved murders of journalists, businessmen and opposition politicians in Russia recently.

    • Giant

Here is a picture of one of the photos flipped horizontally and superimposed on the other at the same angle. Note the exact same orientation of the lines, and in particular the small metal gates to either side, which one would assume are free to move. It does indeed look like the same place. It’s worth noting that these images are taken from much larger images that were cropped, so differences in angle are easy to achieve in editing.

” Why is it so hard to accept … ”

Because the UK government uses universal spying which is an abomination and a destruction of freedom.
People who operate such a system are self-evidently liars and criminals because they are recording information that is none of their business. If they can record, they can obviously manufacture lies..
our government wants us to believe in some kind of la-la idea that a budget big enough to monitor all of us is never used to lie. Absolute power corrupts absolutely. Two massive whoppers on the same day, Russiagate and anti-Semitism gate. Back in the days, Mrs Thatcher was dropping political incendiary bombs on the public every day. We know the Tories are shite, but they learned from Thatcher the dangers of dropping too many turds on the public in one day.

    • PleaseBeleafMe

Why is it so hard to accept that a country led by the former head of its secret service might have sent people to kill someone who betrayed the Russian secret service?

Hear and see this a lot and would like to correct. Putin was never the head of the KGB, GRU or whatever. He made it to the equivalent rank of a light colonel. I’ve heard this on CNN a couple of times over the last few months and even if he was so what?
People here may be on a wild goose chase but the whole Skripal story does stink and all available evidence is worth a look.

  • David Evans

Looks suspicious, but I go with the technology being faulty because it always is. Only the tech-worshippers trust it. . Even the channels on my telly have disappeared recently!

  • Goose

A better line of questioning is : Why were known GRU officers allowed in the first place?

If they weren’t known to be GRU officers at the time, how was their GRU status and presumably real identities discovered? Their real names are unknown according to reports, so how have they been identified as GRU officers?

    • bj

      They are turned assets.

That’s why when caught –any day now– they will conveniently ‘confess’ and confirm everything the guv told you.
