The Great Kowtow 720

The dreadfully stultified pageantry of the British state has been on full display the last couple of days, all mouldy ermine, fraying gold braid and musty velvet. But forms which evolved as a vibrant display of Imperial might have transmuted into rituals of obeisance, as the nonogenerian Prince Philip stumbles behind the Chinese President along lines of men wearing decaying bears on their heads. The sickness of Britain’s monarchical system was never more bluntly revealed than by the rictus grins of the aristocratic clowns balancing their tiaras at the state banquet.

The Chinese are the imperial masters now. Cameron begs them to build a nuclear power station for which the British state guarantees it will pay double the market price for electricity produced, for twenty years. And a government which has just announced the extension of thought crime to the expression of non-violent or anti-violent thought deemed “extreme”, has no locus to talk about human rights, a concept at least as alien to Teresa May as it is to the Chinese Communist Party. Britain has its own war criminals like Blair and Straw running around, immune and very wealthy.

The British state is an immoral entity which I view with disgust. That is what drives for me the imperative to early Scottish Independence to be rid of it. Every day as a British citizen is like bathing in sewage.

I wonder if there’s some sort of rescue organisation, that could rescue people from these brainwashing cults, though in the case if Scientology (they all usually end in ology) it could be dangerous.

The Theosophical Society may well be less covert in silencing ex-members. Still one can only surmise who thought up the “Mystical Union” act.

Ron L Hubbard’s for lack of a better word “con” trick was his Dianetics, no doubt (Alcyone or Villager whatever you prefer) a fertile imagination is required to succeed in a get rich quick cult.

    There’s hope for you yet.

  • Alcyone

Ros, you still didn’t answer my very serious question: Why in the world, why is this World filled with pricks like you?

Apart from which you are an utter ignoramus with the research skills of a cretin.

    Read here:

” Krishnamurti dissolved the Order during the annual Star Camp at Ommen, the Netherlands, on 3 August 1929.[63] He stated that he had made his decision after “careful consideration” during the previous two years, and that:

I maintain that truth is a pathless land, and you cannot approach it by any path whatsoever, by any religion, by any sect. That is my point of view, and I adhere to that absolutely and unconditionally. Truth, being limitless, unconditioned, unapproachable by any path whatsoever, cannot be organized; nor should any organization be formed to lead or coerce people along a particular path. … This is no magnificent deed, because I do not want followers, and I mean this. The moment you follow someone you cease to follow Truth. I am not concerned whether you pay attention to what I say or not. I want to do a certain thing in the world and I am going to do it with unwavering concentration. I am concerning myself with only one essential thing: to set man free. I desire to free him from all cages, from all fears, and not to found religions, new sects, nor to establish new theories and new philosophies.”

So, nothing to do with the Theosophical Society. Get it?

You’ve got to see the funny side of it though. For such an extreme Nat Scot, the fact you are not Scottish and don’t even live in Scotland is, kind of hilarious.

  • Republicofscotland

Following the dissolution, prominent Theosophists turned against Krishnamurti, including Leadbeater who is said to have stated, “the Coming had gone wrong.”

Krishnamurti had denounced all organised belief, the notion of gurus, and the whole teacher-follower relationship, vowing instead to work in setting people “absolutely, unconditionally free.”

There is no record of him explicitly denying he was the World Teacher whenever he was asked to clarify his position, he either asserted that the matter was irrelevant, or gave answers that, as he stated, were “purposely vague.

So the “Coming” had gone wrong, this is what happens whe occultists fall out, but Krishnamurti never denied he was the World Teacher, wow, talk about having an ego.

So inessence he went solo more money for him, no wonder Leadbeater was angry, his golden goose just fled the nest.

“Yes I did say ‘senses’ but the context is their limited nature in our understanding of the Cosmos. A sense of hunger hardly reveals anything of that nature.”

When you said intuition was the sixth sense I assumed you classed it as a sense in the same way sight, hearing, smell, touch and taste are senses.

  • fred

“Well Fred, having the sense to read a link isn’t one them is it.”

You still haven’t answered the question and neither did your link.

It makes Fred’s FOAD look positively tame.

Mind you Anon1 reading your recent comments I wonder are you a follower of Alcyone’s “World Teacher.”

RoS its fools like you who are holding up the movement forward of humanity.

THE ignorant man is not the unlearned, but he who does not know himself, and the learned man is stupid when he relies on books, on knowledge and on authority to give him understanding. Understanding comes only through self-knowledge, which is awareness of one’s total psychological process. Thus education, in the true sense, is the understanding of oneself, for it is within each one of us that the whole of existence is gathered.

What we now call education is a matter of accumulating information and knowledge from books, which anyone can do who can read. Such education offers a subtle form of escape from ourselves and, like all escapes, it inevitably creates increasing misery. Conflict and confusion result from our own wrong relationship with people, things and ideas, and until we understand that relationship and alter it, mere learning, the gathering of facts and the acquiring of various skills, can only lead us to engulfing chaos and destruction.

As society is now organized, we send our children to school to learn some technique by which they can eventually earn a livelihood. We want to make the child first and foremost a specialist, hoping thus to give him a secure economic position. But does the cultivation of a technique enable us to understand ourselves?

While it is obviously necessary to know how to read and write, and to learn engineering or some other profession, will technique give us the capacity to understand life? Surely, technique is secondary; and if technique is the only thing we are striving for, we are obviously denying what is by far the greater part of life.

Life is pain, joy, beauty, ugliness, love, and when we understand it as a whole, at every level, that understanding creates its own technique. But the contrary is not true: technique can never bring about creative understanding.”

    ________________

I’m not biting Fred, if you can’t find the answer in that link, then like Anon1 and Alcyone you have what it takes to be the World Teacher.

Mind you Fred I’d say you’re in poll position for World Teacher, with your Saganesque response to the space sense question, remarkable.

  • Ben-Outraged by the Cannabigots

Krishnamurti cannot be held responsible for his so-called ‘adepts’ who interpret his missives or mis-apply due to a lack of self-awareness.

Let’s not attack the messenger. Christ! Can the Nazarene be held accountable for his putative followers?

  • Ben-Outraged by the Cannabigots

“When you said intuition was the sixth sense I assumed you classed it as a sense in the same way sight, hearing, smell, touch and taste are senses.”

I can’t believe someone with knowledge of the operations of space/time/gravity missed the point of the exercise, Fred.

Are you reading the texts prior to comment?

Sure it is, philosophy is a wonderous thing, lovely little anecdotal quotes of Confuscius style thinking really warms the cockles of the heart, but and it’s a big but, the real world is not so understanding. It never will be Alcyone.

Do you actually think for one minute, no second that the G8, 7 now Russia’s been suspended and the UN Security Council give two hoots about philosophical thinkers and if how we listened to them the world would be a better place, of course they don’t, and they never will.

I always use a humble fly to explain quantum mechanics:

A fly has, in relative terms, an incredibly simple brain (some people wouldn’t even call it a brain). Flies drive us mad, yet just look at their aerial acrobatics. All that darting around takes an incredible amount of computation, computation that even our most powerful computers couldn’t hope to match. But it’s just a simple fly?! Yes, and it’s this speed of computation, found in even the lowliest of creatures, that points towards quantum superposition. Superposition is when matter exists with two or more energy levels (‘mixed states’); ie, a particle can be in two different places at the same time, and, in theory, they can be at opposite ends of the universe.

At this stage I should point out again that quantum theory is based upon mathematical constructs which even the physicists can’t agree upon, and maths itself is a flawed language (go ask a mathematician to work out the square root of two). However, superposition has been proved by countless laboratory experiments. It happens, but only at the particle level. The biggest puzzle in quantum mechanics is: why aren’t more complex structures, like you and I, in two different places at the same time, since we are all made up of these particles? For reasons we don’t understand, superposition doesn’t happen to us as a whole, but maybe it does happen to bits of us, the bits that process information.

Another big puzzle in quantum mechanics is that matter is in superposition only while unobserved (‘unobserved’ is a mathematical construct). Once us humans observe a particle in mixed states it immediately reverts to a single state (ie, what we perceive as the ‘normal world’). This might be because our own minds work by using the same mechanism, and if we observe other matter that’s also in superposition we somehow are able to influence its state.

You might need a strong cup of tea to get your head around all this; but I try to explain it in understandable terms; and I’ve just had a good dinner and I’m going to bed…

Alcyone, have you not been told already to fuck off, were banned infact, were to go and take with you all your insincere new-age trippy-hippy cult stuff, your weirdo gurus, and all the other refuse cluttering what passes for a mind, with you. You have less charm than a tyre-flattened dead critter frozen stiff at the side of the road and starting to thaw.

  • Ben-Outraged by the Cannabigots

    Good post-dinner analysis robG.

As has been said, if your try to observe activity on a molecular level you need x-rays to see which will upset the orbit, making objective observation impossible, because the orbits will deviate.

But that is the observable. The curiosity revolves around the disparity involving the non-observalble. It’s been said that to find true reality you have to eliminate, one-by-one, everything that can be eliminated as true until you are left with one truth.

“RoS you are really are a foolish character puuting all your eggs in the politicians basket.”
    ___________________

On the contrary Alcyone politics plays a major role in your life, it affects everything through legislation.

The food you eat the clothes you wear the house you live in, the car you drive, the laws that marry or divorce you, politics is everywhere.

Politicians have far more of a say over our lives than any guru or occultist could have.

Look at Syria, Iraq, and Libya, the death and destruction, who do you think gave the get go to spill so much blood?

I may sound cynical, but in this day and age politics is the only religion that matters.

” I may sound cynical, but in this day and age politics is the only religion that matters.”

You sound rather more ignorant than cynical, actually. Cynicism follows an education, something you have clearly missed. I’ll leave you now in your ignorant world.

Btw did you watch Krishnamurti’s talk at the UN from 1985?

Did you see his interview by the massively respected Bernard Levin?

Please do so when you decide to go back to school. Here are the links again:

Twoleftfeet—Great link to Gideon Levy’s speech. He does explain the situation so well. Hope Anon manages to watch it. I particularly liked the part where he pointed out the irony of Nitenyahu telling Jews in France to move to Israel which would be the only place where they would be safe in his opinion and then shouting to the world how much danger Israel was in from Iran.

When you Losers, the couple of johnny-come-latelys look at yourselves in the mirror in the morning, ask yourself ‘Who Am I?’

PS Dedicated to Tony Opmoc also for completely the opposite reasons. We love you Tony <3 Keep your love flowing. Dunno about the whisky 😉

“Politicians have far more of a say over our lives than any guru or occultist could have.”

    Dunno about that.

Gurus and occultists have been diverting peeps from reality for many a long year.

In addition, they’re the strategy and tactics guys.

Politicians are more the magicians beautiful assistant kinda thing.

@ Alcyone “Dave, are you describing Total Freedom?”

Anarchy is described as Chaos .Take a box of marbles and throw them onto a snooker
in the most random way you can and you will find they will form into groups.
The spacing if you measure the distance between groups will turn out to be PHI
which is the order you will find throughout the universe and yourself.
