Murdoch is Even Viler than We Knew 366

This article was published on the Sun’s website at 2.50am, that is hours after the Manchester bombing.

It was updated at 09.50am, long after the decision to suspend electioneering. I am not going to link to the article, but the comments below it from the public are unanimous.

I pray that the vile people at the Sun have miscalculated, and in future the Sun will be as welcome in Manchester as in Liverpool.

Despicable. To use the death of these beautiful young people to score political points. You should be banned from reporting news. You were proved to be liars with the hilsborough tragedy and you have not yet learned your lesson. Shame on you!!

  • Eddie Roberts

The filthy rag that is the Sun is never allowed into our home. Anyone in possession of this scum of the earth excuse for journalism is and actually has been shown the door. How can people degrade and taint themselves by even handling this vicious, scurrilous mouthpiece for the worst excesses of Capitalism. Liverpool’s principled stance in campaigning for its removal should be emulated nationwide until this nastiest of newspapers is no more.

  • Denise Wilcox

A new low even for the Sun….I have one word for you Hillsborough…. Disgusting rag.

  • Darren Hannigan

this is the man who won the Ghandi peace prize you disgusting scum how dare you write this on today like today

  • Linda lee

The is the possibly the lowest this depraved rag has ever gone. There is not a shred of decency. Close it down.

  • Joe Murphy

    This article is an outrage.
Disgusting rag of a newspaper which no one anywhere should ever buy.

  • diana wilkinson

You are not journalists, you are not reporting the news. You are the scum of the earth for spreading malice and hate.

  • Craig ashby

Shame on the Sun newspaper for trying to score political points through yesterday’s brutal act of terrorism. Another paper owned by a multi-billionaire who pays no taxes. The emergency services, the NHS, all political parties (by suspending campaigning) and most of all the people of Manchester showed how great we can be when united together. Opportunism is no way to respond to idiocy. Let’s hope the Sun newspaper is no more welcome in Manchester as it in in Liverpool. Love and thoughts go out to Manchester and all the victims of yesterday’s attack.

The suspect is British born with Libyan background. What have we ever done to Libya (sarcasm)? The crocodile tears of May should dry up once she realises that the suspect had the same ideology as Al Nusra/ISIS and that she’s given over £30 million to their affiliates, the White Helmets. You couldn’t make this shit up.

  • Angela Gardner

I am utterly appalled by your headline in your trashy paper, you are the lowest of the low and it is time that your paper is closed down!
    Stop this blatant lying!

The one chance to diminish Murdoch’s influence in the UK was when Blair’s government had a big majority.

But there was little chance of that happening as, in opposition before 1997, Blair and his team became convinced they could not win without Murdoch’s backing. So nervous were they, they agreed his interests would not be touched in exchange for that support.

Included in that “pardon” were events such as the miners’ strike and Hillsborough in which Murdoch gave blanket backing to the Thatcher government and what we now know to be state interventions in our democracy on her behalf.

Labour led by Corbyn constitutes a real threat to Murdoch and his many interests in addition to his media holdings.

The question now is whether the momentum Labour appeared to be developing before the Manchester attack can be regained after the campaign hiatus permits May to steady herself and the Tory party.

Expect much more Murdoch, Rothermere, Desmond and Barclay Bros nastiness alongside the Manchester mourning until June 8.

The Sun is the most shittiest paper in the world, I would not wipe my arse on it. Bare faced lies, not one single journalist who works for the sun has a shred of decency

  • ED12

To be honest Craig you are just as bad for publishing this article. Both the Sun and you are trying to make a political point on a da of great sadness.

  • Vanessa Lockwood

Can’t the press council do something about this. it’s defamation

  • sandra mcdonald

gutter rag as usual.why not start publishing the true facts on MARIA GATLAND,COUNCILAR FOR TORYS IN CROYDEN.WHO WAS A MEMBER OF THE IRA IN THE 70S.

    • Jim

She’s not the leader of the Conservative party going into a general election though is she? Not even a councillor anymore once the high-ups got a whiff of this. Some perspective needed I think.
For what it’s worth I hope this backfires on the Sun & gives a bit of a boost in some perverse way to Jeremy, but that’s unlikely. His job was to be prepared to counter this stuff with effective answers, with emphasis on effective & credible. Some chance.

      • D_Majestic

Like Theresa May countered stuff with effective answers whilst talking to Andrew Neil, you mean? It was a total joke. It has clearly escaped your notice that Corbyn was elected by a huge majority of Labour members. May has so far only been elected by her own constituents.

  • Miriam Harvey

Absolutely disgusting….it’s not even journalism. ..on a day like today …the sun prints lie after lie …about a man who speaks for peace …I hope the people of Manchester follow the lead in Liverpool .and ban your rag .. . Shame on you

  • Karen Fletcher

Absolutely disgraceful, shame on the S*n, my thought go out to the grieving families yet your pathetic rag wants to spread more hate and try and discredit the Labour even more. Vile reporting makes me sick to the core. I will be reporting this.

  • Sandra Bowes-Rennox

I intend to lodge a compliant against that rag the Mail for that cartoon which is in bad taste and insensitive.

  • Josie Sterry

In the wake of what happened last night, to say your article is in bad taste is a massive understatement. You should be totally disgusted with yourselves.
Using a horrendous event where children were masacred to spread these sick lies is unforgivable.
    Hang your heads in shame!

  • Georgina Beazeley

My local garage gives customers free copies of the Sun. I refuse and loudly say why. They can’t even *give* me a copy of this filthy rag.

  • Alcyone

Craig, why are they all shouting at you in first person as if you were Murdoch or The Sun? Weird that.

Pity this whole IRA thing is being (re)played now. All the comments here seem such like such a drain of energy. Be good if it could be channeled elsewhere.

Anyway, on the brighter side of things, they mostly seem women–good you have quite a following.

    • Sharp Ears

What has the gender of the commenters (and it’s good to see new names on here) got to do with it? All commenters feel strongly about the vile stuff in the Sun and elsewhere being used to attack Jeremy Corbyn.

      • Sharp Ears

There is a nasty Mac cartoon in the D Mail. A couple are hiding behind the curtains as two men carrying rifles walk up the path.

One says to the other –
‘Oh dear. Will you answer the door. I think they’re canvassing for Jeremy Corbyn’.

  • Jan Kelly

Lies. I hope you never write another word professionally. I wont allow the “Scum” in my house ever again.
Complaint on its way to IPSO

  • Lynne Campbell

How low can you sink to use the death of innocent children to further your agenda disgusting
