I am in Berlin for the annual Sam Adams Award – this time to William Binney, formerly Technical Director of the NSA. There will be an address by Edward Snowden (and a short contribution from me). It really is a tremendous event, with some very senior former intelligence professionals making revelations about the extent to which the security state is out of control, a tool of immoral governments dominated by corporate interests.

“The PASOK govt – in case you’ve conveniently forgotten – was a Socialist govt.”

Tony Blair’s government, in case you have conveniently forgotten, professed to be a Socialist government. And now because of his warmongering and theft, dictatorship over his country and subservience to the Great Dictator, Warmonger and Abuser of Human Rights, together with the bankers who have financed them and him, the failed world is having to rely on real socialism to get themselves out of the hole.

Oops, WordPress converted the text after “cache” into a link. Just imagine that the whole line is plain text; that’s what you’d put into Google’s search box to get Google’s cache of this article.

“But you are right that the true heroes are those who are able to be honest when it comes to the faults of those they have supported in the past.”

Thanks Resident Dissident. That’s why I no longer support the Labour Party (can’t they change its name) and support a proper socialist party allied to Syriza and Podemos.

The Independent’s top article. Declares itself:

“The nearest thing that you’ll get to a definitive report on Britain’s involvement in Iraq (given that Sir John Chilcot won’t publish his…)”

    http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/middle-east/the-chilcot-inquiry-september-11-and-the-road-to-the-iraq-war-9999788.html

Yeah right… only two sideways mentions of Israel. A complete whiteout on anything to do with Friends of Israel etc.

“The Spies who pushed for war” is a lot closer.

    http://www.theguardian.com/world/2003/jul/17/iraq.usa

Sharon’s office provided the fraudulant WMD intelligence. And the Friends of Israel lobby with 80% of Tory MPs as members – carried the vote in the Commons. British servicmen killing and dying for “world” (Israeli) security. A small country a continent away which was an enemy of Israel but no threat whatsoever to Britain and America.

I fully expect the Chilcot report to have exactly the same blindspot.

Boris Johnson has visited Iraq to meet British troops helping to train local fighters involved in the war against Islamic State (IS)

Does this eventually burn itself out when “Western” forces have trained everyone in the Middle East to fight everyone else? Or is it like painting the Forth rail bridge; as soon as you’re finished, start again.

Boris has gone to Iraq because he has been told that Mr Barzani hasn’t paid any of his municipal staff for 9 months, and they are still going to work…

What’s the secret? There’s no council tax, no income tax, low water rates and no mortgages. You can coast along on savings for a stretch. It takes a long time to get a job in the council, so nobody’s going to complain too much.

What about all the oil money? All that training for fighting ISIS is free as well. In exchange for using Iraq as a Bollywood war film back-drop. Put it like this. Craig wouldn’t be sitting in the Kurdish national parliament if his high principles can’t even accept a power-sharing deal that includes a Scottish bedroom tax.

Alas, poor Boris. He thought he was in charge of London, but it turns out Kurdish mafia are even in charge of that.

Were the governments of Blair and Brown Socialist? The label on the bottle is nothing to do with the contents. Wait and see what Wallace will do in the Middle East with his ‘cost of living crisis’. On second thoughts, don’t wait and see, because then you’d have to start now shilling about that.

Squatting is illegal in this country. The full force of the law will be brought down on any cat caught in the act.

Peacewisher, thanks for the Louise Mensch link. I applaud what she has said about Cameron’s two-facedness in sucking up to the House of Saud when all the terrible executions and floggings and abuse of female rights have taken place in that haven for the rich.

I recall though that as a Tory MP she opposed Tom Watson over whether Rupert Murdoch had the right to run a news industry. I don’t know whether it was her allegiance to the party whip, or whether Murdoch had promoted her books, but she went into bat for him. Ironically too it was the electoral college (something I’ve always opposed) that put her into parliament over a local candidate. So I am guessing she is better off out of politics (as it exists today) so she can speak her mind. I’ve tweeted her to thank her.

  • Tony_0pmoc

I had never seen her before in my life, but I had gone out for a smoke by myself..and she was – well hobbling a bit up the road. It was incredibly cold..so I asked her if she was coming in to see the band..tonight

She said I haven’t got any money..

    I said that’s O.K…I will buy you a drink

The band were playing Pink Floyd Comfortably Numb…I didn’t realise..but I moved round to the front door to welcome her in..She was almost numb with cold..and it was warm in the pub…

Sure I understood the score..but I didn’t want anything in return..she found it hard to understand…

    And it’s quite a posh pub..hell even..well you’d be surprised…

So I invited this homeless (well she probably had somewhere to stay)

And they all looked at her and me…

I bought her a pint of Stella..and I introduced myself..She said I’m Lisa..so after she had warmed up a bit…I introduced her to my wife and all our friends..She was a bit hesitant..and my wife said go on dance with her..well after this one..and so I did..

Most of you can’t do that. What is wrong with you?..She is a human being too..Never been down there??? Don’t you know how to make a homeless person happy..for just an hour or so..Don’t you know how to make someone smile..and know how good that makes you feel?

    Lisa is 39 Years old

    This is Neil Young

My wife and I were there too (not seen the video yet)

Neil Young Rockin’In The Free World(New Sound)Live From Hyde Park 27th June 2009

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=411cTWwxFu8

I knew some of them didn’t approve when she was dancing with me..and slightly knocked into a very posh old lady..and I gestured to her and did my sexy bit..

Which was to unzip her coat (didn’t actually do it) but everyone understood (the poor girl was still freezing after over an hour in the pub)

So My Wife, My Angel..pushed Me out of the Way a bit…and Danced With Her Too.

The Rest of You are Full of Shit.

    Tony

Welby defends his patrons on the lowering of flags for the Saudi tyrant.

The creeps P Charles and Cameron, frequent fliers to Riyayd, are heading off there again today to offer their condolences. The humiliation that we are so in thrall!

    Albert Einstein once said,

“The world is a dangerous place to live, not because of the people who are evil, but because of the people who don’t do anything about it”.

Are any of you potential recipients for the Sam Adams award?

    Or are you all mouth?

All the things you say Labour used to provide for all, for free, ARE free, in Scotland, under the SNP Government.

You too can have them for free if you live in Scotland. However, don’t vote Labour if you want to keep them for free.

  • Robert Crawford

    Furthermore,

When the government’s spooks are shadowing you day and night, and using your money to do it, you know you have done something RIGHT.

Like the man said, “just do it”.

The right time is now. It always is!
    You see, to-morrow never comes!

  • Robert Crawford

    John Goss.

The Labour Party is a Scottish invention which has reached it’s “sell by” date.

The goodness intended, is long gone, unfortunately.

  • Robert Crawford

    Name calling.

I see my name mentioned in a derogatory way, along with others, earlier.

That made me consider closely those who have been lumped in with me. I find on reflection that I warmed to these others when I read their comments. Whereas, the perpetrator is better left wondering his position in the world.

    Poor soul.

  • Peacewisher

@John: I noticed your tweet just as I was going to bed. Agreed about her support for Murdoch re phone hacking, but she has made up for it this time. If you read all her tweets she apologise to HM and doubled her anger to DC when she was informed that the half-mast at Buckingham Palace was at the request of his government. Still a twitter storm going on… Obama also praising the tyrant and I bet the American people loved her exposee on hypocrisy!

@Robert Crawford -don’t let the synagogue of satan put you down. Jesus warned us about khazar habba 2,000 years ago!!!

  • Resident Dissident

    Robert Crawford

John Goss through his expressed views has made it absolutely clear that he was never a bone fide member of the Labour Party but an infiltrator. I note he is claiming that he is claiming that his telephone box tendency is now affiliated to Syrizia and Podemos in yet another vain attempt to get some reflected glory for his political views. I very much doubt that either of those bodies – or even his current telephone box for that matter – share his view on the Rothschilds or Holodomor denial, or even his silence when it comes to expressing support for the role played by Solidarity and other free trade unions within the former Soviet bloc.

  • Resident Dissident

    BTW

MR Goss’s telephone box tendency is not affiliated to either Syrizia or Podemos – or at least not yet. Last December they decided to seek affiliation to the European Left to which Syrizia but not Podemos are affiliated (Podemos are affiliated to the European Left/Green grouping not the European Left at present) – and they haven’t even got their application in yet.

I don’t do, being ground down. I know their game.

    Resident Dissident.

When a country and a political party are doing the right thing by the people, others will try to put them down, with their snide comments.

I cannnot remember what Sage said, ” I know when I am right, when others say I am wrong”.

You see it is a shock to the belief systems of others when they hold a view that is “mainstream”, normal if you like, to have it blown out of the water. And, here is the thing, they know they are, and have always been wrong, but they are not brave enough to admit it. The brainwashing machine has them in it’s grip.

What a waste of energy and a good life.

What could they achieve if their minds/talents were free?

  • John Goss

The Labour Party, when I joined as a Young Socialist, was nothing like what it has become. It was the party that opposed oppression and aggression. It wasn’t perfect but it would not have stood by, and did not stand by, to watch a section of British Society brought down by racist/religionists. To my undying shame I voted for Tony Blair the first time round. The Campaign Group within the Labour Party gets smaller year by year which means that all the policies that Keir Hardie stood for are no longer part of Labour Party agenda and have not been for decades. So Resident Dissident don’t go cosying up to Syriza and Podemos. They are not for the likes of you. You would only want to change them from within, like Tony Blair did.

I can understand when the likes of you have worked so hard to change the Labour Party into what it’s become feel threatened by the rise in the European left, because it eats away at what you hold dear, a comfortable and easy life on the backs of the poor. So I understand why Syriza, Podemos and Left Unity are getting under your skin. Live with it! We don’t want the likes of you.

What interests me about that story is the name of the Paris Mayor. What a name for a mayor in a republic. Don Quixote would approve.

‘Now, I happen not to believe the great majority of Trowbridge’s claims and theories, but one must admit that he appears to be expressing sincerely and genuinely held beliefs, set out by his own efforts and without recourse to dubious websites and links and couched in civilised and polite language.

Would that the characteristics described above were also the characteristics of the likes of Republicofscotland, Macky, Guano, Fedup, Jives,Robert Crawford, Mary, MJ, Tony M, Node, KOWN
    and so on….!’

    ______________

Yes, I’m an admirer of Trowbridge too, I find him often hard to follow but quite likeable. One nice way in which he differs from you is, he doesn’t behave like a Tell Tale Tit, posting derogatory remarks about people on this forum made by someone posting on a different forum.

I mean, seriously, are you seven years old or something?

  • Calgacus

Hi Fred, have you read the book “Under the Sign of the Scorpion.” It shocked me to the core as I could not believe the atrocities committed in the Soviet Union.

  • fred

    Hi Calgacus

My post was meant to be a tongue in cheek parody on how even something as delightful as the first flowers of spring can be transformed by the narrow minded.
